Mission: The organization is a public foundation that mobilizes the collective power of women and their allies to transform the lives of women and girls in western massachusetts. This transformation is achieved through strategic grantmaking focused on economic prosperity, strategic partnerships and the creation of more diverse women leaders through direct service programming.
Programs: The organization advances progress toward gender equity by funding the most promising solutions through rapid response grants, and conditional commitments for multi-year grants to projects that focus on women's economic prosperity. Multi-year grants must have one or more of the following outcomes:public policy change;advances in existing research;redefining/re-framing key narratives in order to influence individual and/or community behavior; building critical mass of engagement demonstrating replicability of a model/innovation. The organization also collaborates with results-oriented local, statewide, and national partners and trains over 30 women a year through its signature 9-month leadership program, the leadership institute for political and public impact. By advancing women's leadership, the organization seeks to make western massachusetts a national leader for gender equity where all have the power to prosper economically, live a safe and healthy life, and thrive.
