Mission: The purpose of wishtoyo foundation is to protect the rivers and watersheds of southern california's coastal communities, preserve the heritage of the chumash people and teach their ancient values of environmental awareness, stewardship and sustainability. Our environmental programs - water quality monitoring and restorations of native habitats and wetlands, involve volunteer participation from youth groups, schools, community groups and the general public.
Programs: Wishtoyo provides educational, cultural and environmental programs to schools and the public, teaching awareness of our natural resources, ancient chumash values of sustainability and the cultural heritage of california's native peoples. Our work involves education, advocacy and community participation, in programs such as water quality monitoring, stream and wetlands restorations and the construction of an authentic chumash village.
