Causes: Human Service Organizations, Human Services
Mission: To provide the clothing, supplies and experiences unavailable to most foster youth and to retain quality foster homes in pierce county by addressing financial barriers to accepting foster placements.
Programs: In 2017, the wishing well foundation provided over 300 different caregivers access to the wishing well need bank, serving over 1000 youth. We administered "little wishes and provided monetary assistance for children in foster care to support thier participation in extra-curricular activites. Wishes averaged $100 each and 64 were granted in 2017, while 500 donated experience tickets to activities were distributed to families. We hosted monthly events, learning experiences and life celebrations such as graduations for foster familes. 900-1000 children received gifts, supplies and joy at these events. Foster parents/caregivers reveived education, support and referrals to community resources that allowed them to continuing fostering children.
