Mission: Wise Fool New Mexico ignites the imagination, builds community, and promotes social justice through performances and hands-on experiences in the arts of circus, puppetry, and theatre.
Target demographics: youth, at-risk youth, teens, LGBTQ+ community, and women
Direct beneficiaries per year: 2,000 youth and 20,000 community members
Geographic areas served: Santa Fe and surrounding communities in Northern New Mexico
Programs: Wise Fool New Mexico introduces youth to Circus Arts and Puppetry in schools through our well-rounded programs offered at 10+ public schools in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
In addition, our flagship program BUST! fosters openness & acceptance of diversity by prioritizing self-identity as women, trans, or gender non-conforming & by making space for all body abilities.
Wise Fool has shared with me the gift of circus, the joy of creativity, and the value of play. This organization centers community and welcomes so many people to both heal and grow in a supportive environment.
Wise Fool NM has been a powerful ally for my daughter who came out as transgirl a few years ago. In this vulnerable time she was accepted as a normal teen for who she was and how she presented. The community of teens and coaches couldn't be kinder. The opportunity to be creative and physically active has been a real asset for her as it would be for anyone. The use of conscious communication has spread to all parts of her life. My family is so grateful to have Wise Fool NM in our lives!
