Mission: Support, promote, and facilitate partnerships with and provide funding for innovative early-stage and startup companies to lessen the burdens of government by promoting economic development and creating sustaining jobs in wisconsin.
Programs: The wisconsin innovation initiative supports the mission of the university of wisconsin-madison school of medicine and public health (smph) by developing innovative therapeutics to improve human and animal health by alleviating the effects of disease. It enhances the ability of the university of wisconsin to educate students in the process of medical product development, provides increased opportunities for outreach by faculty and staff of smph to use their skills in the product development process, and supports the transition into the marketplace of useful technology developed at the university of wisconsin and other research institutions.
