Causes: Crime & Law, Crime Prevention
Mission: A group of community leaders whose mission is eliminating crime and the fear of crime in wichita and sedgwick county, who will seek accountable leadership and performance in all public agencies, will promote and develop efforts to heighten public awareness, and will provide objective non-partisan analysis, study or research and requested technical assistance concerning crime based legislation.
Programs: Annual awards dinner, highlighting accomplishments of local law enforcement personnel.
cosponsor of the largest annual gang and drug training conference offered to law enforcement officers in the midwest
special projects inlcuding law day-cosponsor of the sedgwick county sheriffs annual law camp which is designed to present a positive criminal justice message to more than 200 at risk young people; youth court, a program in public schools introducing students to crime and the court system; make good choices program, a program designed to give the message to high school students
monthly insider briefing meetings, where members are provided a speaker and program from the law enforecement community. Plus all other allocable expenses of the crime commission
