Mission: Westminster-canterbury of the blue ridge's mission is to provide a lifecare community of vibrant living designed to meet the dynamic needs and opportunities of older adults. . In addition to the operation of a lifecare retirement community, wcbr established the westminster-canterbury of the blue ridge foundation, a supportive charitable organization to raise funds for the mission of westminster-canterbury of the blue ridge.
Programs: During fiscal year 2017, wcbr provided housing, health care, activities, meals and other services for an average of 418 individuals who are typically age 62 or older. Wcbr has 281 independent living accommodations. Residences range from 700 square feet apartments to over 2,400 square feet cottages with two car garages. The average number of occupied units in fy17 was 246 (89%) with an additional 100 spouses or second persons occupying the same residence. Activities are plentiful; including numerous clubs, committees, lectures, life long learning opportunities, art classes, flower arranging, exercise programs, spiritual services, special events and trips that stimulate the intellect, passion and interest of our residents.
