Causes: Religion, Religion-Related
Mission: To provide venues, such as retreats and seminars, and to teach christian spiritual formation practices for people to enhance their relationship with god and others.
Programs: Wellspring provided resources for developing personal spirituality and renewal to pastors, christian non-profit leaders and other lay people. Highlights of 2017 include:1. Wellspring's soulcare program for a cohort 28 bay area pastors met for nine months; 2. A retreat for 75 soulcare alumni was held in the fall and in the spring; 3. Four group spiritual direction groups led by diane schouten and judy beggs; 4. A 32-week spiritual formation group based on a biblical text held at wellspring office;5. Westhope presbyterian church continues to offer their facilities for group spiritual direction, individual direction, and training for our spiritual directors; 6. Two advent half-day retreats attended by about 170 participants; 7. Two lenten half-day retreats attended by about 170 participants; 8. Individual spiritual direction offered by 14 trained directors;9. Creation of online spiritual formation resources including three downloadable personal retreats;10. Participating as adjunct faculty in offering the third year of a three-year doctorate in ministry degree program in spiritual direction at fuller theological seminary; and11. Trained and resourced leadership team to start a soulcare program in denver, colorado.
