Mission: At waterislife we are incredibly proud and invested in our mission; to save lives and transform communities with water, sanitation and hygiene solutions. Waterislife provides clean drinking water, sanitation and hygiene education programs to those needing access. We provide opportunities for others to be involved through fundraising and field project implementation. Through community driven and community engaged integrated water, sanitation and hygiene programs, waterislife works closely with non-profit partners, local governments and community organizations to focus on an integrated approach to ensure that households, schools, orphanages and medical facilities have access to safe water, proper sanitation and hygiene programming, short and long term.
Programs: Waterislifes global work this year has included locally empowered programs providing waterislife filter straw and family nano bucket filter distributions, to full scale community long-term water, sanitation and hygiene systems and solutions. This year we introduced a new straw filter that is smaller but is more effective in treating water with heavy metals and virus. This year we continued to expand our footprint with our solar and wind powered water treatment systems that provide 5,000 gallons per day for communities. Current projects include work in haiti to expand to 200 locations with the goal of 1,000 locations over the next two years. When completed the 1,000 units would provide enough safe water for the entire population of 10 million people in haiti. Together with our supporters help, we have been able to impact the lives of people in need of safe water. In addition to our field work this year, waterislife introduced - in partnership with deutsch new york one new video with cutting edge vr technology for thailand, which in tandem with our earlier videos, have over 15 million views collectively on waterislife youtube channel thegiftofwater. These award winning videos have been featured on time, the national geographic channel, npr, in the wall street journal, new york times, forbes and sports illustrated to name only a few. All donations raised from the videos go back to provide clean water, sanitation and hygiene to the area featured. This year we continued field research in kenya and haiti of our newest filter innovation - the drinkable book. Once the drinkable books are funded and produced, waterislife will distribute the books as part of our integrated water, sanitation and hygiene programs in india, haiti, ethiopia, kenya and ghana, as well as make available for global partner distribution. As waterislife moves ahead we are committed to focus short and long term growth of water, sanitation and hygiene solutions globally. Continually reviewing innovative and creative technology and solutions, building relationships and developing global partnerships to remain true to our mission.
