Causes: Arts & Culture, Singing & Choral Groups
Mission: The mission of the washington women's chorus is to give voice to the great variety of music written for women's voices by performing works ranging from the 12th century chants of abbess hildegard von bingen, to compositions by vivaldi and brahms, to new works by american and international composers.
Programs: Our 2012-2013 season opened in october with a visit to a nursing home to sing to the residents. We then had began preparing for a holiday concert but our membership had dwindled to an untenable size and we canceled the concert. We went on hiatus until june 2013 when the board elected to shut the chorus down. We had paid for our concert space and the fee was nonrefundable so we donated the space to our accompanist to hold a recital.
