Causes: Microfinance, Small Business Development
Mission: To strengthen economic development systems that support the growth of strong and effective microenterprise development organizations. We do this through building a coalition of organizations, agencies and individuals dedicated to microenterprise development; providing leadership to the voice of microenterprise practitioners; promoting microenterprise as a viable economic development tool, supporting the capacity of microenterprise support organizations to provide self-employment education and assistance and access to capital.
Programs: Capacity building, education and training support to mdo's: wsma provides capacity building support to microenterprise development organizations through education, training and resource mobilization; conducts data collection and analysis of services and impacts for public education purposes; convenes members and stakeholders for networking and sharing of best practice; promotes and encourages funding for microenterprise development and microlending; serves as a field informer by providing information to members on funding opportunities, industry trends, and resources; provides counsel and support to mdo's for their development needs
