Mission: The washington research library consortium is a collaborative partnership providing proactive and responsive, innovative, and cost-effective access to shared information resources, services and expertise.
Programs: Information technology services have been a central focus of wrlc's services since 1990. Provides online catalog to nine members representing over 13 million records. Digital images and audio of unique primary source materials along with access to electronic reserves and other campus systems are provided by wrlc.
shared collection facility- wrlc operated a shared storage facility to free valuable space in the campus libraries. The facilities provide high density, environmentally controlled, retrievable storage for books, audiovisual and microfilm media and archival boxes. Students and faculty may submit on-line requests for items stored using the online catalog.
resource sharing- wrlc member libraries have combined resources to create a shared collection- a virtual library- for students and faculty in the washington, dc area. This program includes reciprocal borrowing based on shared on-line catalog, and consortial licensing of on-line resources.
