Mission: One hundred seven years ago, Volunteers of America was founded to provide services to those in need. Chartered in New York City, the newly developed charity also initiated service that first year in southern California. In the Los Angeles area, the original services offered to the needy in this bustling community of 100,000 included a home for orphaned children and support for newly arrived immigrant families. As the region experienced explosive growth, Volunteers of America continued to expand its services to keep up with the additional challenges brought with the influx of new residents. The family has always been the focus of our mission and our services have expanded to assist all ages in the family unit. Today we are continuing a battle that sometimes seems overwhelming. Our commitment to bring lasting solutions, not just temporary comfort, has led us to look to new ways to support individual growth and self-sufficiency.
In MY opinion, the director at the Hacienda Heights is an arrogant incompetent illiterate buffoon. He is supposed to be in charge of Project Homekey, but is so stupid and clueless its amazing he even has a job. He has no regard for the rules outlined in the Participation Agreement. Everybody at the facility dislikes him, to put it mildly.
So if you're looking for help, or to volunteer or donate, there are definitely more reputable organizations out there.
