Mission: The Volunteer Center of Southern Nevada was established in the wake of the 1997 Summit on America's Future, where thousands of community activists joined the President, General Colin Powell, and other leaders in promising to give America's youth five things they need to become successful adults. In Southern Nevada, the Volunteer Center was created to fulfill that promise in the Las Vegas community with programs for connecting people with opportunities to serve, building capacity for effective volunteering, promoting and recognizing volunteering, and participating in strategic initiatives to address community problems.
