Mission: To offer individuals and families victim-centered services and support in the treatment and prevention of domestic violence and sexual assault and abuse.
Programs: Domestic violence prevention and intervention - voices of stehpenson county family advocate provides support to all survivors of domestic violence in stephenson county. Services include: individual counseling to help victims explore their options and arrive at a decision that is safest in their current situation, legal advocacy to assist victims by helping them obtain orders of protection against their abusers and by walking victims through the court process, medical advocacy to assist victims whose injuries require medical attention, and emergency shelter and or transitional housing to provide a safe home environment while victims work toward financial independence.
transitional housing - voices of stephenson county community resource specialist assits survivors with community resources available to empower them to live independently in a violent free environment. Survivors of domestic violence who are ready to break the cycle of voilence in their lives and who qualify for voices of stephenson county transitional housing program can live in transitional housing for up to one year; during which time, they will attend weekly individual domestic violence counseling and meet weekly with voices of stpehenson county resource specialist to complete a life skills educational program, which includes budeting, housekeeping, and economic assistance to promote independent living.
