Mission: To help young adults transition to independence by providing a stable, nurturing environment that includes housing, counseling and education.
Programs: Vita nova villagevita nova serves approximately 28 residents annually in our residential program. This program provides immediate therapeutic, daily living skills and assistance with work/education so our residents can learn the skills to avoid homelessness after leaving the facility. At vita nova village, 85% of our residents complete secondary educational goals and 70% move on to post-secondary enrollment. 75% are gainfully employed and understand how to create and live on a budget. All residents have assistance with healthcare and therapeutic goals.
vita nova independent living services (vnils)vita nova is the lead provider in palm beach county for services related to educational tracking and achievement for older foster youth (ages 18-23) governed by florida statute. We help and serve over 234 young adults annually with these services which include: hosting monthly innovative daily skills training (financial, health, education, social skills and wellness), assistance with college/vocational preparation, connection to area resources, and life coaching.
oasis advocacy center vita nova operates the only service in palm beach county for young adults, 18-25 years old, who are from foster care, and in desperate need of additional resources. Many times participants of oasis center come to us homeless, jobless, or needing medical attention and we provide or locate a service in 24 hours to remedy their problem. Oasis team members focus on employment, housing and health related issues for over 311 young adults each year.
vita nova team members serve on many local and statewide committees to improve the state of foster care for older foster youth. These committees work to enhance issues related to: health and wellness, laws & statutes, best practices, educational and employment outcomes for this population. Due to our experience we typically assume leadership roles in each committee and have facilitated many state and local training courses to alert the larger community about the challenges inherent with this population and ways to improve the system of care. Other accomplishments including thrift store operations.
