Mission: In the winter of 1976 a major earthquake rocked the Central American country of Guatemala, leaving death, destruction, and desperation in it's wake. The response by a small group of young committed Christians led to a family of more than 70 churches throughout the Americas with a vision to disciple the nations. Verbo Ministries today is a family of churches that believes in worldwide evangelism, the functional unity of the Body of Christ, and the personal holiness of its members. We have established churches in 12 nations. We are dedicated to preaching the Gospel and training women and men in Christian discipleship. We take to heart the statement in the Epistle of James 2:17, "Faith that doesn't lead us to do good deeds is all alone and dead!" For this reason we have established grade and high schools, health clinics, food distribution, vocational training, and other programs for the poor. We participate in emergency relief work whenever possible.
