Mission: The Downtown Music Lab aspires to be the best after school music program in the country. The Lab provides area students in grades 7-12 with a positive place to go after school to write, record, play and perform music. Students benefit from instruments and equipment, private studios and an expert staff trained to work with students. The student members also benefit from positive role models who help the students build self-esteem, encourage school attendance and better grades, and a safe haven from talk or lyrics of violence, drug and alcohol use, sexist or racist language.
