Mission: The mission of ocdc is to champion, advocate and promote effective international cooperative development. Ocdc promotes cooperative development initiatives in developing countries and emerging democracies by strengthening the ability of both member and non-member cooperative development organizations through education and other coordinated activities.
Programs: International cooperative research group:the research group designs and implements rigorous research into the impact and effectiveness of cooperatives in international development. Research tasks include: a pilot of the multi-country research initiative, "what difference do cooperatives make? ; a research advisory committee; communication and dissemination of research results; and additional research on topics such as small holder farming, side selling, and governance. small holder - achieving commercial success and developmental impact in smallholder enterprises in africa, asia and latin america: in collaboration with oxfam-gb, the research group will explore the factors and attributes that enable agricultural cooperatives and other enterprises owned by, or working closely with, smallholder farmers in africa, asia and latin america to achieve both commercial success and developmental impact.
