Causes: Amateur Sports Competitions, Sports
Mission: The south florida chapter of us lacrosse, inc. Is an affiliate of the national organization, us lacrosse. The primary purpose of the chapter is to unify, promote, and manage the many aspects of men's and women's lacrosse in the south florida area. The chapter is the central source for information, programs, and lacrosse events in the south florida area. It seeks to promote and develop the game of lacrosse as an integral part of the educational process and as a means of making available to the youth of the chapter the beneficial attributes of the game. The chapter also seeks to broaden the public interest in amateur lacrosse through educational programs designed to encourage the playing of the game and to make its benefits available to ever-increasing numbers of students.
Programs: Co-ordinated tryouts and planned and supported trip for girls participation in annual national girls lacrosse tournament. Tryouts include girls from the south florida area. Those selected went to lehigh university in bethlehem, pa to participate in games against teams from across the nation.
the south florida chapter of us lacrosse holds an annual dinner to recognize the all-district, all-league, all-american, and academic all-american award winners for high school boys and girls. Also recoginzed at the dinner are individuals who are inducted into the south florida chapter hall of fame for their accomplishments as a player, coach, or contributor to the game of lacrosse.
with support from a grant awarded by the orange bowl committee, the south florida chapter of us lacrosse held clinics to support the growth of lacrosse in the south florida area.
