Programs: Stepping up to new opportunities entrepreneur training: -urban hopes corporation signature entrepreneur series is the starting point for exploring opportunities in entrepreneurship, as well as those already in business who need to reboot or launch their business-we have assembled a dedicated bastion of business leaders, ceos, attorneys and accountants who voluntarily serve as presenters, many of whom are alumni and successful entrepreneurs themselves. Their expertise, understanding of the programs mission and desire to give back truly provide a winning combination and ensure a strong support group for the budding entrepreneurs. Certificates are offered upon completion of the program. Stepping up to new opportunities has several objectives:-determine the feasibility of your concept to the marketplace-develop the foundation of a business plan-understand strategic planning-discuss and analyze hundreds of small business issues and challenges-learn about innovation and leadership principles-each topic is designed to build on the previous one to be sure you have a good understanding of how to overcome the obstacles and barriers confronted by small business. Rebooting your business classes are offered for the evolving entrepreneur. Program goals:-instilling social values, leadership, and solid business ethics-being a resource center and compass to send clients to service providers, other businesses and government agencies-creating and fostering entrepreneurial networks and partnerships-stimulating a local culture of leadership, innovation and small business advocacy-innovative hands-on training to spur economic development-teaching social enterprising and a sense of giving back to the community-instilling and teaching how to mentor and establish a peer-to-peer network to develop true empowerment and self-reliance-exposure to new ideas, creative thinking and researching best practicesengaging in community partnerships:urban hope corporation creates a level playing field for small business by bringing together a wide variety of organizations and established businesses that offer their expertise and support to aid in your success. Urban hope corporation is a rallying point for resources and partnership with dozens of regional and community programs such as the new north, the wisconsin entrepreneurs network and chambers of commerce. Urban hopes corporation executive director and staff, along with business leaders and volunteers work together to provide a strong network of business connections, resources and referrals for you. Partnerships:-diversity partnerships-satellite affiliates in other cities-wisconsin entrepreneurs network, which provides seamless access to the statewide network of entrepreneurial resources and expertise. -chambers of commerce-main street programs-business resources and associations-high school, college and university exploring and mentoring programsour strategies:-prepare people for self-sufficiency for the 21st century through the empowerment and training of entrepreneurship, especially those with barriers to employment. -creating a giving back responsibility as a condition of the free enterprise system through entrepreneurship-work with dislocated worker training through the southwest wisconsin workforce development in janesville, beloit and rock county region. -work with the underserved and participants who want to embrace these values in the workplace by developing business skills, business ethics and hands on experiences to achieve success. -establish a strong leader group. This is a peer-to-peer mentorship group in successful business clusters that discuss best practices and team networking techniques. -respond to the local community needs and conditions to enhance economic development through entrepreneurship. -serve as a resource center to give participants and graduate businesses access to additional training, counseling and business services. -create a level playing field by becoming an advocate for small businesses. -investigate the potential in developing the successful business model in other communities that seek the urban hope mission and vision. -form strategic alliances and partnerships with other education and training organizations such as the business assistance center, northeast wisconsin technical college, blackhawk technical college, beloit college, service corps of retired executives, uw small business development centers, wisconsin entrepreneurs network, chambers of commerce, new north, networking groups, as well as other private service providers. -foster the value of social enterprising with businesses and other non-profit and graduate non-profits.
