Upworks

Programs: Empowering & restoring adults: upworks has an unique opportunity to bring purpose to life by serving others. While doing so,we encourage equality in the workplace for all people. Christian volunteers are trained in working cross-culturally, basic coaching to empowerment, faith-sharing in the public arena, and learn how to work with clients. After training, two volunteers are matched with one client who desires to return to work and desires to grow to their full potential. The client meets for 1-hour a week for twelve weeks with the two volunteers to do self-discovery of who they are and what they desire for their future. They set weekly goals to start on this path for a more fulfilling future. In 2017, 42 volunteers were trained and 28 clients completed the program. All 28 were either employed or in school at the completion of the program - 100% success. Volunteers also serve as mentors, program advocates, and spiritual care givers. Upworks engages collaborative partners to support clients in areas outside upworks focus of work.

engaging schools: upworks facilitates partnerships between christian churches and their local school to provide supportive volunteers. The schol leaders share the vision and goals of the school. Together the leaders determine ways to collaborate, and strengthen the community. Upworks offers ongoing assistance and resources to equip churches as they serve. Regional gatherings are held to share learning, provide training, and network organizations for increased impact. Schools value caring adults to invest in the lives of its students in and out of the classroom. Motivated by god's love, christians show this love through caring relationships and assistance in whatever way the school believes will be most helpful. There is a high need to support and fortify school leadership and teachers in the diverse and challenging school environment. Upworks believes their is a unique opportunity to provide children a hopefilled and bright future.
