Causes: International, International Relief
Mission: The uplifting project, inc. Will serve individuals who are underprivileged and underserved by building schools in some of the most impoverished communities in the world and supplying educational materials to people who live there. The organization is building schools and supplying resources in order to empower the people and increase their opportunities in life.
Programs: The organization commenced construction of a secondary school in olasiti, tanzania in order to empower those living in the community. In august 2011 the uplifting project wired money to a contractor for building materials and construction costs for a classroom for the olasiti secondary school. The classroom is currently being used. It is a place of learning for 50-100 students at a time and is a great accomplishment of the organization. In october 2011 money was sent for the construction of restroom facilities for the school. The toilets are individual structures including 10 bathrooms, half of them for males and half for females, which serve hundreds of students. Bathrooms are vital as they affect the hygiene and health of the villagers. In april 2012 the uplifting project wired money to a contractor in olasiti for desks to be built for the classrooms that the organization funded. In total, 50 desks and 50 chairs were made. The students no longer needed to sit on bricks and pails turned upside down. The desks and chairs that were funded by the organization enabled students to learn in their school feeling respectable.
