Mission: The university of scranton is a catholic and jesuit university. It is a community dedicated to the freedom of inquiry and personal development fundamental to growth in wisdom and integrity of all who share its life. It offers degree programs at the undergraduate, graduate, pre-professional, and professional levels.
Programs: Higher education; instruction - provides undergraduate and graduate instruction to 3,867 undergraduate and 1,513 graduate students. There are 65 undergraduate major programs, 29 graduate (masters) level programs, one doctoral program, and over 100 continuing and professional education programs taught at the university. Higher education; student financial aid - total institutional financial aid awards processed and disbursed by the financial aid office amounted to $66,267,847 to recipients. Additionally, the financial aid office processed $58,998,924 of financial aid in the form of loans to students. During the 2016-2017 academic year 3,609 unduplicated recipients received some form of financial aid. Loans provided to students and their parents include federal stafford, plus, and alternative loans.
