other program services: family & financial stability affordable housing, ged certifications, job training, and financial education are economic development tools that move people towards financial stability. We also offer an individual development program (ida), which allows wage earning individuals at 200% of federal poverty guidelines to participate in a $2 to $1 matched savings program which can be used for post-secondary education or first time homeownership. The following were current year impact measures: *over 4,938 hours of adult education and family literacy. *over 258 hours of mental health counseling and services to the deaf that stabilize families. *53 families found stable housing and support to stay housed. 2-1-1 (information and referral)this program provides free information and referrals, 24/7, 365 days a year. This confidential service enables any wayne or holmes county resident to participate in a one-on-one consultation with a live, trained specialist who will help the caller assess their true needs and direct them to the appropriate health and human service resource. In 2014, we assisted 6,593 callers. In addition, individuals can search the web-based, 2-1-1 data base on-line or they can come into the united way office to seek help.
