united way's direct community service programs, "211" client referral , bryan, effingham and liberty county centers, and "hands on savannah" provide services to the community by assisting persons in need, providing volunteers for various agencies and programs. Other programs perform community needs assessments and develope new services that are needed in the community. United way also provides emergency assistance to those facing financial difficulties.
