Mission: The purpose of the u. S. Chess center is to teach chess to young people, especially those from the inner city, as a means of fostering academic and social skills and improving self esteem.
Programs: The center has an educational program in which children learn and play the game of chess. These programs include clubs as well as classes in the d. C. Metro area schools.
the u. S. Chess center conducts summer camps to allow children the opportunity to learn and play chess.
throughout the year, the u. S. Chess center holds tournaments in order to provide a competitive environment in which young and old chess players can display their talents.
