Mission: The organization will educate the public about different cultures by presenting documentaries, doing social work, and making little known works of art available, while also helping artists fund their work as a tool to help fulfill the goal of educating the general public
Programs: Feathers of fire - this year we continue to present the theatrical show, feathers of fire at theaters around the country. The 70 minute show incorporates puppets, shadow casters, music and animation and is based on the 10th century epic poem shahnameh. We partnered with shadowlight productions, and together facilitated artist hamid rahmanian vision and creation. Two chairs has been responsible for touring the show this year, providing all logistics, contract services and team representation. This is an ongoing program that will continue through 2019.
last man standing - we have continuted to support of the work of documentarian louisa merino, who is working on a film about jerry yellin, one of the last veterans from wwii, who enlisted to fight the japanese, after their attack on pearl harbor. Jerry returned home from the war as a decorated pilot and suffered from ptsd. It was only when he found transcendental meditation decades later that he began the road back to himself. When his son moved to japan and married a japanese woman, jerry was confronted with his decades-old fear and hatred. At 91 years old, jerrys mission is to promote peace and understanding between different cultures. This is an ongoing project.
