Causes: Autism, Disabilities, Health
Mission: To promote community awareness and provide diagnostic and therapeutic services for individuals with an autism spectrum disorder (asd); to educate and support professionals and families on asd-related issues; to support and provide resources for families; to stimulate research and represent the best interests of the autism community in tucson and its surrounding areas.
Programs: In 2016, the tucson alliance for autism provided: services provided: - autism evaluations 13 clients - behavioral consultation 3 clients - social skills program 97 clients - workshops 2 - presentations 6 support: tafa hosted - (24) parent support groups - (11) parents of adults with autism support groups - (23) adults with autism support groups - (11) spouse support groupscommunity service: - in partnership with tucson airport and american airlines, tafa developed and organized fly saafe a program to help individuals with autism become familiar with air travel. Over 60 families and volunteers participated in the october 2015 event. - tafa participated in (6) community resource fairs
