Causes: Job Training, Vocational Rehabilitation
Mission: Transitional employment consultant's mission is to assist individuals with disabilities to become independent, productive members of the community by providing job readiness training and placement into competitive employment.
Programs: Assist adults with behavioral health and intellectual disabilities in returning to gainful employment through placement in numerous employment positions. The program includes vocational evaluation/exploration, job finding services,and job coaching at community based competitive employment sites. Approximately 150 adults with disabilities receive supported employment services on an annual basis.
the transition from school to work program enabled students who are "at risk- and who have disabilities to expand their career, educational and job opportunities. Approximately 30 high school students receive transition services on an annual basis.
the work and recovery program provides services to inmates with drug and alcohol histories to prepare them for release by providing informatin on balancing their recovery with life in the community and obtaining employment.
as a part of its on-going temporary employment program, tec subcontracts the services of its trainees to local businesses. This permits the trainees to obtain valuable on-the-job training. Tec provides community based assessments for our clients. The purpose of the community based assessments are to determine if the client has skills necessary to work competitively in the community.
