Causes: Community Improvement & Capacity Building
Mission: To support, foster, and facilitate the development, funding and commercialization of emerging technology, research, development, and innovation in the el paso, texas region. To serve as a regional center for innovation and commercialization of research and technology and to evaluate entreprenurial opportunities and other related activities as contemplated in an act passed by the texas legislature referred to as h. B. 1765 and in chapter 490 of the texas government code.
Programs: The rcic collaborates with institutions of higher learning and regional economic development organizations to develop partnerships and identify promising research and commercialization efforts that leverage emerging technology. These organizations include the university of texas at el paso, texas tech university health sciences center, el paso community college, redco, the city of el paso, and the hub of human innovation. The rcic is the entity that identifies and helps prepare entrepreneurs and companies seeking to apply to the texas emerging technology fund in accordance with the texas legislature's h. B. 1765 and in chapter 490 of the texas government code. The organization provided support for about 65 entreprenenurs.
