Mission: Excellent oral health is a key factor in a person's well-being. Colorado total smiles seeks to provide that level of quality care to under-served communities in the denver metro area. Accessibility and affordability are critical to those we serve.
Programs: Total oral prevention strategies (tops) views oral health as an essential component of health care because a healthy mouth is more than healthy teeth. Oral health affects speech, nutrition, growth and function, social development, the ability to concentrate and quality of life. Tops' goal is to provide low-income children and adults with oral healthcare services. Tops ongoing activities revolve around three main areas of dentistry: prevention, treatment and education. Our clinic is open two days per week and provides services to 8-10 patients per clinic day. The number of appointments varies depending on the complexity of the services provided. Two dentists and two hygienists provide services, and tops provides continuity of care, which allows issues to be recognized and addressed sooner, and ensures patients' special accommodations are taken into account, such as additional time to manage pain. We also see patients at our seven partner agency sites, two times a year at each site.
