Three Rivers Community Foundation promotes Change, not charity, by funding and encouraging activism among community-based organizations in underserved areas of Southwestern Pennsylvania. We support groups challenging attitudes, policies, or institutions as they work to promote social, economic, or racial justice.
Geographic areas served: Southwestern Pennsylvania
Programs: TRCF funds organizations working to create progressive social change in the 10-county Southwestern PA area. Grants are made primarily in the following fields:* Disability Rights* Economic Justice* Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender Issues* Racial Justice and Intergroup Relations* Environmental Justice* Women, Youth, and Family Issues* Civil/Human Rights and Advocacy* Peace* Voting Rights and Mobilization* Media Justice The Foundation has two major grant programs:1.) Annual grants in the above issue areas.2.) Special Opportunity Grants, available throughout the year. These are small grants for special, unplanned opportunities that may arise during the year, for which the organization did not budget.
