I just love the team at Thoroughbred Athletes. It all started when I signed up for one of their "Sport of Kings" events with my Quarter Horse. After seeing the facility, how nice everyone was, how great and well taken care of their thoroughbreds were- I knew I'd be back. Fast forward to a year and my old Quarter Horse needed to retire. I knew where I was going! I'd always wanted a thoroughbred, and the only place I felt comfortable going? Thoroughbred Athletes. Actually, I was deployed when I got Fearless Tears. Lynn knew me from the past year -we kept in touch after the Sport of Kings event. I told her exactly what I was looking for, and she said she had just the horse. Insert: Fearless Tears. When I came home from deployment and met Fearless, I knew she was perfect. Lynn did such a good job listening to my needs and wants and setting me up with the right horse. I adopted her in 2019, and to this day we remain inseparable. Lynn has been kept up to date with her happenings, and she shows great support in whatever we decide to do. Now that I live in VA, if I were to want another thoroughbred, I would make the trip all the way to OK because Thoroughbred Athletes is who I trust. Like I said before, I just love the team they have.
This rescue holds a special place in my heart. I’ve adopted two incredible horses through Thoroughbred Athletes, both of which have brought me immeasurable joy. This is a rescue I will continue to part of for the rest of its days as a volunteer and patron.

I joined Thoroughbred Athletes last year as a volunteer and fell in love with the mission. Soon after I adopted my first ever horse from this organization who is my best friend! And now I am a Board Member because I believe in the mission so much that I want to ensure its continued success. I highly recommend this organization to anyone who wants to volunteer or find their new best friend.
I am a longtime volunteer and board member of Thoroughbred Athletes. This organization does an amazing job of acting as a bridge for horses leaving the world of racing and moving into their next career. They take the time to assess all the horses needs and work to find them owners who are best suited for them. This is a great organization to volunteer at if you are a horse lover.

We have adopted 2 fabulous mares from TAI! If you are looking for somewhere that provides excellent care for every horse, excels in honest communication to help you find the perfect match for you and your goals, as well as having fantastic volunteers to care for the horses as their own, then look no further! We will always return to TAI for finding our perfect matches and suggest everyone do the same.
I love volunteering with TAI! I go to school out of state, but when I am home, most of my time is spent helping out at TAI.

We adopted our horse Lucy from Thoroughbred Athletes. They have always been there for any questions, suggestions or help we have needed. It was such a relief to our family to have an expert to help us through sone of the puzzles of horse ownership

We have adopted a mare from Thoroughbred Athletes INC in July of 2021 and were very impressed with the organizations ability to allow transparency in the adoption process. Allowing potential adopters to meet all the horses, encouraging them to take time to meet each horse, ride and interact with them and the honesty regarding the horses physical abilities show they in fact are looking to match a retired racer with their family. The time they take to make sure a horse is healthy physically and mentally shows the true love of not only the horses but the community they serve.
I have worked in some sort of animal ecology and education through many avenues my entire adult life. From sitting on a board of directors for Greyhound adoption to working at the zoo in animal education with the public, and I know finding the combination of education and adoption is a hard balance to strike. Not only does this organization strike the balance they go well above.
They make sure the horses are in the best condition before adopting them out and work with the youth in the area to allow them the opportunity to volunteer, learn and pursue a passion.
Since adopting we have also worked with volunteering with this tireless team and can say from the inside they are just as they appear. Loving, determined and open.
I've been a volunteer for a year and can't say enough great things about this organization. They truly care for these horses and make sure horses are matched appropriately with prospective owners. They work tirelessly and the other volunteers are just as passionate!

I’ve been volunteering here for over two years and the owner, barn manager and volunteers are phenomenal. The horses health and well-being are always top priority.
I have volunteered for TAI since 2019 and I own one of their graduates, Hezsational. I can’t say enough about the care and attention to individual needs Lynn and the team pay to each horse. Every horse gets exactly what they need and all the love they can handle. Fantastic on profit. ❤️

I’ve been volunteering for TAI since 2019. I cannot recommend them enough! Lynn is extremely knowledgeable and has a heart for finding the right match for horse and person. The horses at TAI are so loved and well cared for that I adopted one of my own, Hezsational, in 2020!
I trust this non-profit implicitly. They go above and beyond for their horses and truly do their absolute best for each and every horse that walks through their door. I have worked with them for ten years now, and have gotten multiple horses through them over that time, and they have done an exceptional job with every single one of them.
I lost my thoroughbred of 28 years in 2020. After some time, I decided I wanted another and wanted to adopt one that had "fallen through the cracks" in life and I knew about Lynn and her wonderful organization so there was no question where I would go. I talked with her and told her what I was looking for. She immediately told me about Day of the Player. He was and is perfect for our family! We took him on our first vacation with our horses in 2023 to Western Nebraska and Player helped carry mail in the 2023 Pony Express Re-ride. Lynn and her help make sure these horses are properly transitioned and ready for their new careers. I won't go anywhere else.
Amazing facility. They take great care of their horses. They go the extra mile by rehabbing properly and vetting potential homes.

Top of the line facility who put the horses above everything else. They don’t just rotate horses in and out as fast as possible and to whomever. They let their horses adjust, rehab, enjoy life and then undergo training rides all the while vetting every potential adopter and making sure the horse and individual match. They take all sorts of OTTBs and ones that most others wouldn’t accept. It doesn’t matter if the donated horse is sound or not, needs extra rehab, needs surgery etc TAI will take it and go above and beyond for it. This is a top of the line facility.
I adopted my Okie Tune in 2016 they were complète angels with everything I needed to get my best friend! I thank everybody there they do great work!!
I have volunteered here for over a year and love the environment. We have seen so many horses come in injured, starved, and so much more. But thankfully we have been able to help those horses get better and adopted.
Thoroughbred athletes has been a important part of not just my and my families life , it has offered options for teenagers to learn responsibility, kindness, patience , perseverance and teamwork. By allowing teen groups to work with retired racers I have seen them blossom. Becoming more Independent, showing compassion and enthusiasm. Expanding their role and becoming leaders as they train horses for their future careers have given them a strong sense of community.
Without Thoroughbred Athletes Inc. I wouldn’t have the two, soon to be three, that I do now. I appreciate everything they do for these horses, and all the effort they put into helping them. The people and organization are one in a million.
We love the people at Thoroughbred Athletes Inc.! When my husband started looking for a horse, I went online and found TAI. We went to visit and found River. It was easy to see how much the staff and volunteers loved the horses they were caring for. They really believe in rehabbing and finding forever homes for these deserving horses. They let us come back again and again to visit River before we adopted him. They were open and honest about him, his limitations and strengths. River is quite the character and we knew he was the right fit for us.
This amazing group of people help save the lives of thoroughbred horses, many of whom are tossed to the kill pens after racing and earning fortunes for their previous owners. They care for these beautiful equine athletes, keeping them healthy and happy and finding forever homes for them to live out the rest of their natural lives. These are amazing animals and amazing people who work very hard every day to save these horses from abuse and death.
I have been volunteering with TAI since 2018 and you couldn't ask for better people with an amazing purpose!
We are both a volunteer and we have adopted one of the rescue OTTB's that they had. I can't say enough about this organization! They have a true love of the animal! Over the last 18 month's I've never seen once where they decided anything that wasn't for the betterment of the horse. The horse always comes first here, and that's what I love about Lynn and Lauren! It doesn't matter where the horse comes from or what condition it's in, if they have room, they will take it in! They do their very very best to fit horses with adopters.. they are very open, honest, and upfront about everything! They welcome you to ride the horses before you adopt them, they will have a rider out for you before you adopt if you want, and so much more! There isn't a better organization out there when it comes to helping these horses after their racing careers or if one is found in a bad situation, there isn't a better place for them to go to end up in a much much situation for them! I have attached a few pictures of my daughter with her boy! We love him to pieces!! We had the opportunity to have a picture made by Traci Davenport at a barrel race that showed his past and present, and we love it! He's the bomb with her! She rides him bare back, swims with him, trail rides with him, jump him, barrel races, can ride in the pasture with cattle, sit side saddle, and whatever else she wants he allows it! We love our OTTB! They are going places together and we love it!

We absolutely love TAI! Lynn and Lauren are amazing to work with! We got our first OTTB and he’s amazing! 1000% sound, they had all his shots, worming, feet, xrays, and vet checks done on him before we even got him! They take exceptional care of their horses and want the very best for them! We highly recommend this place for your next dream horse!!
I have been a volunteer since December of 2020 and I immediately felt at home. These people are basically my second family, and I am beyond blessed to be apart of such an amazing program. From the care they provide, to the lengths they go to in order to rescue horses in need. They are the true definition of a rescue and it shows with their success stories. Without them I would have never found my Meredith and I will forever be grateful for that.
I’m an older rider and was looking for a quiet mount to get my confidence back. I messaged TA with my info and interest in a horse that sounded like a good match. They worked with me and I adopted him shortly thereafter. Always available to answer questions and provide guidance. Happy to get updates.
Lynn Sullivan was an absolutel angel at helping place me with my dream OTTB. I knew exactly what I wanted and remained patient for almost a year until we found exactly what I was looking for in a horse. A lot of times you hear about OTTB’s getting a bad rap for being “crazy” or “high strung,” but I have been so blessed to have found and quiet, intelligent, ambitious mare with so much heart and so much desire to please under saddle. I am constantly counting my blessings each and every time I’m around my mare for how much grace she shows me. I cannot express enough gratitude for the work that Thoroughbred Athletes does in regards to rehoming OTTB’s into their second careers for life.
This organization is absolutely serious about rescuing and rehabilitating some amazing horses, and they are so worth all there efforts.
These people are the real deal and I speak from person experience.
Thank you for everything you do
We were first introduced to Lynn and Thoroughbred Athletes a few years ago when my oldest was needing a horse to help her advance in her jumping career. Red Road Okie entered our lives and he changed it forever. I’m hoping that when my youngest has more riding miles under her belt, we can find her heart horse from Lynn
My kids and I volunteer at Thoroughbred Athletes. We have gained a huge amount knowledge in our months of attending. I cannot say enough about the staff and other volunteers. Everyone is willing to teach and help. Their dedication and love for the horses is present as soon as you walk up. It is a great experience for my kids!
The volunteers are all extremely passionate and hard working. Giving these horses attention, love and care is such a worthy cause and TAI does it very well.
My daughter has been a volunteer for Thoroughbred Athletes for many years. She is so very impressed with the operation and the care that they take with the horses. The horses come first! Their welfare, training and adopters are very important. They are highly accredited!

I have been a volunteer and a donor for Thoroughbred Athletes for 6 years. The volunteers and Director are some of the most dedicated and caring people I have ever been around. Each horse that comes through the program is treated like the unique athlete he is and is put on a rehab/training program tailored to him. I have witnessed some amazing transformations. Great nonprofit!
My granddaughter volunteers here and she always comes home with stories to tell. These horses are so well cared for and no matter how many they have in whether it be 25 to 10 everyone out there knows each and every one of them personally, has a care schedule for each one, devotes time to all of them and puts them first. TAI makes it a point to go above and beyond taking care of their horses, getting them into new homes, training new volunteers and constantly rescuing and helping new ones it seems almost every day.
I have volunteered and they do an amazing job with their horses. They rescue from kill pens giving horses a second chance. They taje excellent care of their horses.
These trainers and volunteers work very hard with the amazing creatures. They are up before the crack of dawn, and late into the night. Not enough credit goes out to these amazing people. The horses seem at ease no stress, and loving life. God bless all who are involved in thie Thoroughbred Atletes keep up the good work
Thoroughbred Athletes amazes me in how they go over the edge to save horses who are unfairly doomed to feed lots and death. I've seen photos of horses who have been rescued by them, and then less than a few months later, photos of the same horse. It's like night and day...they are rehabilitated and prepared for new homes off the race track. It's amazing what love and lots of hard work can do!
I volunteered here while in veterinary school. Everything about Thoroughbred Athletes is nothing short of amazing. They truly care about each and every animal that walks through their doors and put in the effort to make every story a happy ending.
Volunteering here is so rewarding as your immediately know you are a part of something great!! I wish there more more amazing people like Lynn, Harold, and all the Thoroughbred Athletes team.

It is so incredibly rewarding to work with such an amazing group of people and horses. Thoroughbred Athletes delivers to best care and attention to provide off the track thoroughbreds at the chance for a new life. I am honored to be a part of it and look forward to many years of supporting this group who had already given me so much!!
Goodday to all who read. In August of 2011, I visited TB-Athletes in Guthrie, Oklahoma for the first time. From the moment, I met Lynn & her husband & the volunteers and walked into the barn & started viewing the horses & listening to the plight of many of our off-track thoroughbreds not just in our state but around the world, I knew I wanted to help this organization. I have been very pleased & delighted with the outcome of everything that I have seen this rescue do for the plight of this breed of horses. I appreciate all their efforts, hard work, their truth in showing you a horse that is ready for purchase or adoption. I see in the horses body & their eyes..that they are being loved & cared for immensely. I would not hesitate in purchasing or adopting a horse from this rescue for whatever purpose you would be wanting that horse for. I have learned much new horse care & veterinary info from this organization, too! I highly recommend this ottb rescue; if your looking for an ottb! Also, if your looking to volunteer in the Guthrie, Norman &/or Edmond, OK area~ this maybe the farm you might want to work for. They can also use "day help" on special weekends when they do a " clean-up" the farm day! Just follow their site for awhile and you will see how they love & care for the horses that become part of their rescue mission. Thank you for reading & have a great day! Rebecca & Jeff Hill

Goodday to all who read this! I have been a volunteer with this group from the very beginning, and can post that I am very, very HAPPY to be a part of such an excellent & very hard working group of families & individuals!! These peoples come from varied backgrounds, degrees & non-degreed and from the young to the older.. ;) Like me, we have some SENIOR volunteers and the owner & managers the married couple named: Harold & Lynn Sullivan have dedicated most of their lives to the care of the offtrack thoroughbreds in this state. And, they have recent permission to help horses from some other states, as well!! I greatly appreciate their hard work and most of all their graciousness to take in the ottb and evaluate them and help them in any way they can! I have personally had many 'uplifting moments into days, and much happiness" from volunteering & from viewing their different websites to fbook sites! Also, have much joy & resting moments; by helping making crafts &/or making jewelry bags~ to be sold to get monies to help these gorgeous & absolutely amazing animals! I hope you to will view their website and open your heart to the needs of the horses that are in their care. Many horses come to any rescue farm needing much veterinary care & rehabbing; than the work of retraining them starts..so, YES, the needs continue every day at a rescue farm. Thank you for reading my post! I hope you will SHARE this farm's info and help them earn around $43.00~ by going to~ www.greatnonprofit.org~ their front page describes, how just by SHARING their link on that site..you can help this ottb farm earn some much needed dollars! (I will include a pic of one of my son's & his favorite Arabian mare & foal. And some sample ideas of items that can be donated to the yearly Silent Auction..that when sold helps make monies for this farm! Most Sincerely, Rebecca Hill~
I recently brought my two 6-year old grandsons for a day of work/play at TAI. We did some feeding chores, barn cleaning, and met several of the horses. We made Amber glad that she walked all the way to the fence for her peppermint reward! I love exposing these two grandsons to TAI. I have four more grandkids, and one more on-the-way, so I anticipate more visits in the future! Chuck T.

I have served on the Board of Directors for Throughbred Athletes Inc and feel most fortunate to work toward their mission of finding loving homes for retired Throughbred racehorses. The efforts of this outstanding organization have given the opportunity for these former racehorses to find second carrers and a life filled with care and companionship from people who see to their lifelong welfare.
I've been working with this organization for the past 5 years and can not tell you how much I love them. Their dedication to saving, retraining and promoting the versatility of this amazing breed after their racing career is over, is truly a wonderful thing to behold!!
Great facility and staff. Their love & passion for thoroughbreds is clearly seen. I'd definitely recommend supporting this nonprofit to my family and friends.
I am a retired engineer, I enjoy spending my free time volunteering at TAI, in Guthrie. I enjoy my time with Lynn Sullivan, the other volunteers, and especially the horses!
This is a great group of volunteers with a clear, focused mission. The horses are a priority, care is unparalleled, retraining methods are patient and kind, and new homes are vetted for appropriate fit.
Great people here rescuing, rehabbing and loving those horses that might otherwise find themselves in dire straits. Lynn and company are professional, knowledgeable and caring people that give any horses the best chance of a second life.
Thank you Lynn and company for keeping Thoroughbred Athletes a top tier organization
Love this organization and Lynn Sullivan. The kids who volunteer here are above and beyond loving, kind hearted, hard working little blessings. The horses are well taken care of and trained so that you can find your next lifetime partner with ease. There are no secrets because Lynn tells you every detail (good or bad habits). I love the young horse, Regulator, I got to adopt and Lynn was absolutely right about everything she said about him!

I have worked with the director of this organization many times in the past. I'm a horse rescuer in Louisiana and have seen the great work they do first hand. We all struggle to keep Thoroughbreds safe from entering the slaughter pipeline to Mexico and this group does an excellent job at finding at risk Horses and getting them safe. Furthermore once they do get a horse they are able to rehabilitate and retraining with expert care and knowledge. And their adoption process is excellent. Their work ensures that a horse is matched with the right writer and that the new home is a good one. This is a great organization.
I have supported many thoroughbred rescues efforts of Thoroughbred Athletes Inc for slaughter pipeline horses. They do things right, they follow through and the horse always comes first - no matter how long it takes. I unequivocally recommend adopting, sponsoring or donating to Thoroughbred Athletes.
This organization is fantastic! Lynn is so helpful with choosing the right horse for the person and the lifestyle the person lives!
I was fortunate enough to adopt a wonderful horse that had been discarded and sent to a sale. These people have such caring hearts and amazing volunteers. Honestly they donate so much of their time and their own finances into saving and rehabilitating horses that thrive under their care and go on to homes where they are loved and given a new job.
I have been a member since this start of this organization and I cannot only believe how much I have learned from every person involved, but also how much this organization cares about the horses and the sport as a whole. I've been blessed with incredible opportunities through Thoroughbred Athletes, and continue to love walking into the barn every single day. The crew is a family and each horse is loved on and cared for every single day. Lynn and the volunteers that make up the organization put in an incredible amount of effort and emotion into this program to make it into what it is today, and what it will be in the future.

I've been a volunteer for 6 years with this organization and I can't express in words my admiration for Lynn and the other volunteers' dedication to everything regarding this organization. The horses are each cared for on an individual basis and receive top quality care. Not only does this organization do tons for their own horses and efforts, but Lynn also makes sure to give back to other nonprofits in our state through whatever support is possible.
It is superbly clear that this organization not only strives to meet its own goals and missions, but helps others on the way. I could not be more proud to be a part of the efforts of this org.
I've only been there once but I have to say it was very impressive. I love that these folks help these horses find good homes. They are very nice people with the knowledge to back a place like this. If I could give 10 stars I would.
This is a wonderful group of people thriving to get ottb's a new job. Fitting horses with good people who want a better life for them. I would invite everyone to visit this facility and adopt from them if possible.
The work done by Thoroughbred Athletes is simply amazing! I adopted Analytic last fall from this organization. When he arrived at their facility he had been rescued from an Oklahoma kill pen. Having been exposed to strangles there he ended up being so bad that he needed a tracheostomy! I can't thank Lynn and Thoroughbred Athletes enough for their dedication and outstanding work that they do for the off the track thoroughbreds!
This organization does wonderful work improving the lives of OTTB who are often discarded after their race usefulness is over. OTTB's are beautiful, loving creatures who have so much more to give to a responsible owner. More organizations need to help our nation's horses. I commend them so much for dealing with the dark side of the racing industry and other sources where OTTB's come from needing homes vs. disposal.
A much needed organization that is truly dedicated to rehabilitating OTTBS and matching them with loving and dedicated owners.
It is so wonderful to have Thoroughbred Athletes Inc. to be here for these great horses that have so much more to give . They are a true blessing for the horses !!
I have been so very blessed to get know this organization. Lynn does a fabulous job rescuing, rehabilitating, retraining, and rehoming OTTBs. I couldn't be happier with my OTTB that I got from TBA. They truly are a special breed that deserves a second chance at a new career and that's exactly what TBA does for these beautiful creatures!
Thoroughbred athletes was such a blessing to me. I used to be terrified of horses but once I got a look of Lynn's horses I instantly fell in love with horses. I used to be a tad bit girly girl and didnt really enjoy the smell of a ranch, i would go to mexico at my grandpas ranch and the smell made me want to just stay inside and not go outside at all but now the aroma of the horses at thoroughbred athletes is so amune to me. My mom always asks me how I last when I clean the stalls but I tell her that I just love it there so much that I don't even think about it. I even became more hard working. In fact i love horses and the ranch so much now that my quinceñera (a Mexican tradition that we do when a girl turns 15 and "becomes a women" you make a huge event with family and friends) well it's going to be ranch themed at a ranch obviously (which isnt normal because theyre usually in the city but i love the ranch so much now that i dont care that it won't be "normal") i cant express how much I've changed as a person after volunteering at thoroughbred athletes.in the photo it should describe it a little bit (features one of my favorite horses at thoroughbred athletes) I love how much care Lynn puts into a horses health. It amazes me how much the horses improve from when they first got there. When you compare them in photos to how they are after a while at thoroughbred athletes would put you in a shock. It touches me when i go volunteer and the weather is not the best or just plain freezing in the winter and lynn is STILL there working hard, making sure her horses are fine, and seeing if everything is in check. Everyone there is always working hard and giving their free time to those horses so they can live a long healthy and happy life. Donating to thoroughbred athletes would be the best decision to ever make, trust me its just as helpful as volunteering. (Doing both would be great too)
I have adopted 2 wonderful horses from Thoroughbred Athletes and I couldn't be happier. They do an amazing job of not only saving but healing, retraining and rehoming. Lynn is extremely knowledgeable and has a huge heart. She understands these horses better than anyone. If you are looking for a new horse, this is the place to go. I got my first horse here and I couldn't ask for a better horse.
I carefully follow those involved in thoroughbred rescue, aftercare, and rehoming efforts - I am always impressed with the work of Thoroughbred Athletes, and choose them as one of the few to receive my support via donations. Lynn and TBA do an outstanding job!
This group rehabilitates, retrains, and rehomes about 50 horses each year. That is an amazing number of horses helped.
The care the horses receive while at the facility is beyond reproach.
Lynn is amazing! I have known her for 12+ years (including on the racetrack) and she has always put 100% of her time and efforts into caring for her horses. She has put every inch of her energy into TB athletes and finding so many horses new homes. She also takes in and cares for sick and unwanted horses from feedlots and rehabilitates them. TB Athletes is a one of a kind facility and it's an honor to volunteer and be a part of the mission!
Beautiful farm, very hard working staff. Lynn is knowledgeable about thoroughbreds and how to properly transition them from track to riding horse.
It is difficult to put into words how much this program does and how selflessly, tirelessly, and encouragingly the program and its staff work day in and day out. They truly respect, appreciate, love, and care for every horse that walks through their aisle. To me, they are the epitome of a non-profit, as it is painfully clear that they care more for their horses' wellbeing than they do their own. They put the horse first, and I cannot express how thankful I am to have found such an incredible program. I have had the pleasure of working with over half a dozen of their "thoroughbred athletes" and could not be happier with them.

I was blown away by Thoroughbred Athletes' dedication to their horses, their level of professionalism, and the unbelievably well trained and restarted horses that graduate from their program. We could not have asked for better horses from them. Both horses we got through them were exactly as described and both were adopted by us sight-unseen. We felt comfortable trusting the information provided to us by Thoroughbred Athletes, and could not be happier with the horses we have received from them!
I have been a volunteer for about 7 months. I will continue to work hard for this group and the animals it serves.
We have recently got our first horse, and could not be happier. He is the perfect addition to our family.
I have adopted several horses from thoroughbred athletes and everyone was to exactly what they said. No lies ever and amazing personal!
This is a great group. They work very hard for the horses in their care. They take the time to really know the horses in their care and help them to become ready for a new home and second career.
Very caring, knowledgeable, and experienced facility. Great care is taken when matching a horse to its new family. Highly recommend this facility!

Great organization. Matches right horse for the person and their riding style or discipline and experience. Best off track thoroughbred organization very knowledgeable about each and every horse they rescue. I have an OTTB from there and want another one and will always get one from them and refer for them. Love these women and the blood sweat and tears they put into their organization.
I have two horses adopted from here and they are both wonderful!

Thoroughbred Athletes Inc. is a fantastic organization! I work there part time and am proud to say that I have adopted as well! The horses are so well cared for, happy, and Lynn works very hard to see that they are placed in homes that will be beneficial for everyone involved. If you inquire about a horse you are given a full history on them good or bad. Lynn leaves nothing to question. You know as much about the horse as she does before you decide which one you want! I cannot wait to see the future of this organization, with Lynn at the helm the sky is the limit!
Lynn and the team at TBA are amazing! As a retired jockey, it is a wonderful thing to get to witness and be a part of such an awesome operation helping horses into a second career!
As an active member of Helping Hands Equine Assistance, I saw first hand the great work Thoroughbred Athletes does on a continual basis. We helped them find and save several horses from auctions and feedlots. Some had one foot on the trailer to slaughter. They took over and helped get the horses ready for a new vocation and life. Some of the poor horses still had their race shoes on from the track.. the trainers/owners didn't even take the time to pull their shoes before dumping them at auctions!
Thumbs up to the crew at Thoroughbred! They are top notch!
This is a wonderful organization that does an amazing job at giving Thoroughbreds 2nd chances! I found one of my horses through them and he is wonderful! Thank you for all of the good that you do!
This place is amazing! They truly want to help you find the perfect horse for you but also the right home for the horse

This is a wonderful organization! Thank you for all you do to help thoroughbreds find their 2nd career when they are done racing. Your hard work and dedication to these animals have saved countless lives!
Thoroughbred Athletes saves horses and gives them a second chance. When everyone else has given up on them, they rehabilitate and rehome them. Lynn Sullivan saved my best friend and for that I am forever grateful. I've followed TBA for a few years now and everyone is so friendly. All the volunteers, owners, and staff are such friendly and bright people. They make sure the horses are in top condition before they are rehomed and when they are, you can tell that these horses are truly happy in their homes. TBA is an all around great organization.
Thank you for giving these equine athletes a second chance to compete, even if it is just for someone's love and attention!
Thoroughbred Athletes goes aboveand beyond to make usre that ex-race horses are placed in homes that they can shine. Thanks for being there.
This organization is so dedicated and selfless when it comes to saving and providing for these amazing athletes in need. As an active member of the racing industry, I see day in and day out that aftercare and rehoming of retired racehorses is a huge challenge. I can't say enough for this team that goes above and beyond time and time again!
How can I put into words how I feel about Lynn and Thoroughbred Athletes. My trainer introduced me to them when we were looking for a horse for my husband and I. She took me to Thoughbred athletes to meet the most amazing horse I have ever had the honor of calling my companion. He wasn't on his best behavior that day, but I knew he was the one for us. But Lynn said if you still have problems with him in 30 days being him back. Even thou I knew I wouldn't I could tell she was just making sure we were a good fit. Well fell in love with this gentle giant who we decided to keep and called Otis. We have had otis for a year now and it still amazes me how sweet, gentle and easy going he is. Never gives us any trouble and is up for any job you give him. We are still learning together and I look forward to what the future brings . It truly is amazing what lynn has accomplish and how many homes she has found for these I unsung Heroes of the race world. We need more people and organizations like this one.
Thoroughbred Athletics is an excellent organization devoted to the saving of horses and re-training. Lynn and her team are kindhearted, honest and amazing with the horses. It is truly an asset to have a middle person that is as knowledgeable as she is and be able to adopt one of these beautiful animals. I highly recommend them.
I spoke with Lynn before we recently moved to Oklahoma and was so excited to finally get out there to look at the horses. I rode 3 before taking my Charlie home, and Lynn was patient and honest about each horse. She has such a big heart and helps our OTTBs so much, as well as auction horses that need saving. I love my new horse, and we are working each day to establish a partnership.
I have been really happy with the horse I recently adopted from Thoroughbred Athletes. He's a perfect fit for me and I feel so lucky to have found him. He is such a great horse. I would highly recommend this organization for adopting another one. These horses are all well cared for and loved. If you visit you will certainly see what I mean. Its inspiring to see everyone working together with the goal of getting these horses ready to be placed in good homes. This is an exceptional organization that works tirelessly to care for them. Their level of commitment to the horses is outstanding!!
I have bought 2 horses from thoroughbred athletes and they are my kids! The organization is just wonderful! Lynn truly wants to match horse to rider. She is completely honest and is wonderful to work with! The thoroughbreds are her babies!
I first visited Thoroughbred Athletes, Inc. a little over a month ago, looking for a new project horse for myself. Before arriving, I was sure that my search for a nice horse would be long and arduous, as I wanted to be sure I was finding the perfect new mount to bring along. Upon arrival, I immediately saw many nice horses...all being meticulously cared for. The facility was immaculate, and all of the horses were obviously fed and groomed well. I also noticed each horse being appropriately handled and worked with in a manner that suited each horse's individual needs based on where he/she was in their stage of rehabilitation and retraining coming off of the track. After seeing several nice prospects that day, and learning each of their stories, I made the decision to adopt an extremely lovely mare from Thoroughbred Athletes, Inc., and she was on my property within the week. I am so happy about the decision I made, and I truly believe that the thoroughbred racing industry in Oklahoma is so fortunate to have a facility such as this to aid in rehabilitating, retraining, and re-homing horses off the track. I have recommended the facility to other friends of mine who may be looking for horses in the future, and I feel so grateful that I have found such a wonderful place, doing such positive things for these great animals.
I first met Lynn going into my freshman year in 2010, before the program recieved a non-profit status. I have been a volunteer ever since, and am now a senior. The program is well run, and has helped me with my riding, training, and horsemanship (and photography business), along with countless horses. I have met many wonderful people through adoptions, shows, and clinics/lessons through Thoroughbred Athletes and have yet to hear a negative word, nor could I possiblly say negative things about this organization. The level of work put in each day into each horse is astounding, from grooming, feeding, fly control, comfort for each animal, and recuperation of sick or injured horses. The level of dedication has never waivered, and the quality of horses and volunteers are irreplaceable.
Cannot stop saying great things about this organization and the volunteers involved. The horse I recieved has far met and exceeded what I was expecting. Will adopt my next horse from them without hesitation. Have referred many people to them. Lynn loves her horses and takes great measure to assure they are homed with the perfect home.
I was first introduced to Thoroughbred Athletes when I decided to get back into the hunter jumper ring and knew I wanted a OTTB. I met Lynn and her fantastic crew several different times to look at the horses they had and eventually took my husband who is a professional horse trainer with me for a visit. We were both impressed with their program and commitment to the horses. My next OTTB will come from Thoroughbred Athletes and I highly recommend them to everyone searching for their next horse.
Lynn Sullivan is just amazing person she will doing anything to save a Ottb from slaughter. And the amazing teaching the younger people how to train these special horses and to find them the right home for those horses. I can't say enough good things about throughbreed athletes.
I first met Lynn Sullivan a couple of years ago when I was getting back into riding and started out as a volunteer. Since then, I have had the pleasure and opportunity to watch Thoroughbred Athletes grow into an extremely well respected rehabilitation and re-homing program that is greatly effecting the lives of Thoroughbreds throughout the US. Not only does this organization work to prevent off-track Thoroughbreds from ending up in a bad situation, the youth programs also allows today's teens to have hand's on experience where they learn necessary life skills. By working with the racing industry, Thoroughbred Athletes is providing an education to breeders and horse owners as well as rehabilitating, retraining and re-homing Thoroughbreds into forever homes. I am now honored to be a part of this team and am always impressed by the amount of heart and dedication that each and every person contributes to make a difference in these horses lives.
Thoroughbred Athletes is a wonderful organization that retrains and rehabilitates ex race horses. I have been lucky to volunteer for them when I can the past two years. The offer a wonderful work to ride program for youth who may not have the ability to have a horse of their own. The horses are well take care of and a great deal of time is put into finding the great homes.
The Sport of kings Challenge horse show benefiting Thoroughbred Athletes this past summer was an zing experience that I was able to be a part of!!
Anyone looking for a good place to voluteer or donate in central oklahoma should check out Thoroughbred Athletes!! Also they have several horses available for adoption all the time!!
