Causes: Children & Youth, Youth Development Programs
Mission: The third story creates and runs year around programs for at-risk youth in the baker and la alma park neighborhoods in the city of denver. The third story also raises awareness and funds for at-risk youth programs through written media and music. The organization provides the following programs and services to the denver community: summer day camp (summer jam! ), street church, whiz kids tutoring, community outreach, hot meals for hope. The organization also raises awareness and funds for these programs through written media and music.
Programs: Reaching out to at-risk youth through our after-school and summer year-round program and our school year tutoring program. Providing youth in our community with a healthier meal/snack program hot meals for hope (year-round hot meals twice a week) and smart sacks (school year once a week sack dinners during our tutoring programs)strengthened and empowered our volunteer base with appropriate training and encouragement. Helping families in crisis situations. Raising awareness through written word (west side stories)providing community support to our neighbors through home visitations and support.
