Mission: The mission of the washington chorus is to preserve and advance the art of choral singing and share the experience of the transforming power of choral music. See schedule o for full mission
Programs: Concert series: the grammy award-winning washington chorus (twc), celebrated its 57th season in fiscal year 2018 under the direction of artistic director christopher bell. Twc opened its 57th season with two powerhouse choral works: leonard bernstein's chichester psalms and the epic belshazzar's feast by william walton. Also on the program was morten lauridsen's mid-winter songs. The concert also marked the debut of our new artistic director christopher bell. Mr. Bell also leads chicago's grant park festival chorus, the edinburgh festival chorus, and is the founder and artistic director of the national youth choir of scotland. See schedule o for additional information
education and community outreach programs: twc's commitment to the greater washington community is evidenced by outstanding education and outreach programs, including the junior washington chorus for teens ages 16 to 18; the side-by-side high school program; and twc's outreach singers who bring music to underserved groups throughout the area. The washington chorus recognizes that not all patrons in the community are able to attend twc's concerts at traditional venues, and that those who are may need special assistance. In response, twc has created a series of community programs that bring the joy of choral music to all. See schedule o for additional information.
