Causes: Alumni Associations, Education
Mission: To provide educational, charitable and social welfare services for, on behalf of and in furtherance of the interests of the University of Virginia and its gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender alumni, students, faculty and staff.
Programs: Our signature program is the LGBT Resource Center. Since 2000, this hub of queer student life delivers meaningful programs and activities while meeting the challenges of institutionalizing LGBT resources on Grounds. The Center provides a safe space for men's and women's groups and other activities. We also make grants to student and faculty organizations focused on improving the environment at the University for LGBT folk. We further provide alumni talents and time in mentoring, career networking, leadership development, and skills building activities. Over the long-term, we hope to grow the queer scholarship series of the LGBT Resource Center into a queer studies program.
