The minute I walked in the door I knew, 'The Rock at NoonDay,' was a special place! As a volunteer for the past two years in the facility's clothing distribution room, I have witnessed the many services that are provided by the 'Rock.' It is not just the services, but the compassion in how they are delivered. In my interaction with the client's that use the facility, they have shared that 'The Rock' provides them a temporary home that they don't have currently. They can take a shower, get their cloths washed and have a warm meal, all in a clean safe environment. Thank you for being such a stabilizing force in our community!
The Rock @ Noon Day is a warm welcoming place that is the safety net for so many people living on the streets or not he edge. The Rock strives to provide whatever a guest may need in order to help improve their life. Without the Rock many of those on the streets of Albuquerque would have no where to turn.
Deuteronomy 15:11 “For there will never cease to be poor in the land. Therefore I command you, ‘You shall open wide your hand to your brother, to the needy and to the poor, in your land.’”
The people at The Rock are true to this Bible verse. Pastor Danny is an amazing man who from the bottom of his heart gives all he can to this organization. I am a volunteer at The Rock and hear stories of people who have turned there lives around after being helped from this group of people; just everyday people, who have had a bad string of luck and ended up out on the street. The people who come to The Rock are so grateful for simple things like a clean pair of underwear and socks and being able to use their address to get mail.
Jesus described the church as imperfect people who know they needed a Savior, working together to build relationships, help those in need, and to glorify God by striving to be like Christ and share His love with others. The Rock is a church for the homeless.
One of the very worst to the community it literally shoved its way into the neighborhood without any public hearing or input...and then now fences in its property so that it's clients do not stay on their property but go everywhere in the vicinity to sleep, do drugs, buy drugs, vandalize, terrorize and attack business owners and their customers! THEY HAVE LITERALLY FORCED LONG LASTING BUSINESSES TO GO OUT OF BUSINESS EVEN NATIONAL COMPANIES LIKE MAACO HAD TO SHUT THEIR DOORS DUE TO HARASSMENT BY THE HOMELESS WHO VISIT NOON DAY FOR A MEAL- when THEY HAVE ANOTHER PLACE TO EAT RIGHT DOWN THE ROAD!
THIS NON-profit went in without public hearing and it duplicates services of another nonprofit a few blocks away- IT IS NOT NEEDED AND NOT WANTED BY THE NEIGHBORHOOD. It serves food to seniors who already have a program through the senior programs and is a huge waste of money to its director and staff and the building itself which spent 10000s on the sign - and the logo- THE ROCK! It also is a scam which serves as a basketball court to its youth group--when its mission is not basketball to a youth group and the extremely tall ceilings are a complete waste heat and cool air! An expensive wood floor for the basketball court were unnecessary expenses that benefit the group that runs the facility not the homeless!
The staff does not care what their clients do and they say they do not control them when they leave. This place is a sham- absolute...it is not needed and not wanted. It trashed out the area where it was on Broadway in back of the church-then it was shoved in our neighborhood and now has destroyed this neighborhood... it is not a church in any way and those who say they preach the gospel are lying - they do not care what they are doing to the neighborhood and they are doing nothing to help the homeless- but duplicating food ! They are getting large donations to do nothing. They need to move to an area outside of town- instead of taking advantage of a neighborhood due to improper zoning. They lied to the neighborhood and said they were a church...they are not a church. They are not wanted by anyone who lives and has businesses in the area -- and they are not doing any good to enable people to eat and do drugs and live on the street. Alb is getting a large homeless pop from other cities and Noon Day is getting big bucks to be a sham whose clients stab business owners with knives, attack pets, defacate, urinate and shoot heroin in our neighborhoods and close by parks! THEY NEED TO BE RELOCATED- out of the city limits PERIOD== no reason all the homeless services are a few blocks from downtown- to destroy the city of Albuquerque! It was such a joke when it opened- very expensive catered food and valet parking for the VIPS of the city to go to a homeless feeding place????? From the very beginning - it has been a huge waste of money in that all it does is duplicate feeding. We never needed this facility at all--and now it is destroying everything around it- people's lives are literally being ruined by this non-profit whose clients do not care what destruction they cause to the community and neither do the director and staff.
The Rock provides wholesome meals as well as many other services to the homeless community. The staff is focused on people and their needs. Much of the daily work is done by volunteers - so that the funds can be used to provide for those in need. Some of the services provided are: laundry, clothing, showers, telephone, mail receipt, legal aid and haircuts. Truly a ministry with concern for the whole person.
The Rock makes a tremendous difference for so many in our community. Amazing food is served and the compassionate staff and volunteers make it a great place. If you are looking for a place to help others, this is it. They help everyone who walks through the doors.
The Rock at NoonDay is making a difference in our community. It's a place where many find hope.
I love The Rock at NoonDay ministry! They truly live their mission and take care of those in the most need and often those who are not being served anywhere else.
In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’” Acts 20:35 (ESV):
I was not sure what to expect when I first walked in the door but I quickly felt the Love of Christ from the staff and volunteers! They have a genuine heart for those in need. The staff go out of their way to make those being served feel loved and are treated like a family. They know the names of many of the homeless and are quick to greet them and brighten their day. When you have volunteers who love to come in and give of their time speaks not only of their giving hearts but also of how the ministry is run. The current staff is amazing. The meals are nutritious and delicious and the messages are Spirit filled. The Rock @ NoonDay is such a blessing to the city of Albuquerque.
I had the pleasure of volunteering at the rock at noonday and I have to say it was such a pleasure the staff at this facility is top notch the looks on the faces of the recipents was priceless it felt good to work with a charity that is really helping our community.
The Rock at Noonday is awesome! Love to volunteer there because of the friendly atmosphere and warm smiles. Great team that organizes us each week, consistent and you know what to expect. Thanks for being my favorite nonprofit!!
Initially volunteering at the Rock at NoonDay (RAN) took a step of faith. I did not know what to expect, because up until then, the only interaction with the homeless , was in a parking lot being asked for spare change. That was always a scary. What if i said no, what if they acted unpredictably, then what?
My first day volunteering to serve lunch at the RAN changed me forever. I went from apprehensive interactions to seeing the homeless as brothers and sisters in Christ. Not only did the staff warmly welcomed me, but I found it a safe place to place food in their hands, look them in the eye and say "God Bless you brother, I hope you enjoy the meal. Now when I meet a homeless person I can share God's love and invite them to share a meal with the other volunteers and staff members. My life was changed, so can yours.
I started volunteering at the rock at noon day in December 2015 and I was humbled by the amount of volunteers willing to help out people in need since then I have brought my family to help out and they have been very humbled by the Experience. The RAN is always close to my heart and I volunteer as much as I can I'm so glad that my city and the volunteers I work with reach out and do what they can and I feel blessed by this
Thr Rock at Noon Day is a blessing! Not only in the lives it touches at every meal, but also in the lives of the volunteers. Being of service to anyone is the best way to grow your heart and love for Christ.
The Rock at Noonday is a wonderful partner to the other organizations that are providing housing to those experiencing homelessness. I have provided outreach at Noonday for a number of years and they graciously provided me with the office space and other resources. The staff and volunteers there are the best and I cannot describe my gratitude for their support and for all they do for our homeless brothers and sisters.
Noonday is an amazing day shelter. They provide a hot meals for breakfast and lunch, shelter, clothing, rental assistance, and some cases job placement for Albuquerque Homeless. On Sunday's they hold Church service for families. Our family feels confident giving our money to an organization like Noonday.
What a great group of folks commuted to helping feed those in Albuquerqie that are hungry and just need some unconditional
The Rock is not only feeds bellies, but feeds souls as well. Everyone who walks through the door feels like part of a family… The family of God. Cannot say enough good things about this ministry!
