My class has been participating in The International Radiant Peace Educational contest for approximately five years now. They absolutely love it! Ann Healy comes out to our classroom as a guest speaker and shares wonderful examples of student creativity through art and written expression. Afterwards the students are always inspired and excited to get started on creating their own personal representation of what Radiant Peace means to them. Sadly, our children hear so much negativity that is happening in our world. I believe it is important for us all to remember that we all have Radiant Peace within us and can share it with others. There is no greater gift to give someone.

I have had 5 children that have gone threw the school system and never ever heard of you....! My grandson just came home with the paper to do the essay. It is hard to understand who or what you are for him to do the essay. Everything I am looking up, you sound like someone who what's to call yourself nonprofit for tax breaks.i do not see any where that shows me you are legitimate....? As for your ratings you do now it is wrong to give false testaments about yourself. I rate you a 1, let's see how legal you are.....
The works of the Radiant Peace Foundation have helped me to see the world with fresh and more compassionate eyes. It has helped me find an inner calm I didn't realize I could have. They are one of the most dedicated, tireless groups I know of to help bring harmony to the world at large.
Our school, Summit-Questa Montessori has participated in the Radiant Peace Foundation International contest for about five years. The children look forward in writing about peace and creating beautiful art projects of peace. We recommend all schools to participate in this wonderful organization to spread peace around the world.
The Radian Peace Foundation is amazing... we started participating in this organization in conjunction with our Multi-cultural Club Community Outreach over a decade ago and we have been faithfully supporting it ever since. My children take "Radiant Peace" to a much deeper level each year... understanding that spending time with others and looking for the good in people is a win win situation they consistently are praising and pointing out positive behaviors that continuously have an effect on others! I cannot say enough wonderful things about this organization and the wonderful people who help to run it! :)
I love this organization! I embedded its principles in my classroom several years ago when I began participating in their education awards program. It gives children the opportunity to reflect on their lives through medium they most enjoy- writing, art, and videos. Each year I partner with a colleague and together with students we create a project that addresses what Radiant Peace means in our everyday lives. As I checked below, its effects have been life changing!
As a teacher I was looking for a writing contest that provided my students with a way to express themselves in a realistic format; the Radiant Peace Writing Contest, filled the bill. Not only were students in my Creative Writing Classes inspired to write, but I could also present this format to my other classes and bring in a broader spectrum of the idea.
I could tell of role models who possess that inner radiant peace, of caretakers who show love, and of the everyday heroes in our lives. The importance of acceptance, tolerance, gratitude, and caring for all, being discussed in a classroom, for students to reflect about in their own lives, is valuable in and of itself.
The contest provides a way for visual and artistic students to express themselves through art too.
Each student, who participates, receives a patch as a recognition. The museum is well-maintained and it was thrilling for my students to see their writing and visual pieces displayed by other international countries. It demostrates that if we work together, nothing can tear that feeling of radiant peace apart.
For my classroom the foundation is a perfect match.
This non profit is amazing. My students and I thoroughly enjoyed the Radiant Peace presentation. The presentation taught my students about how to share the peace within themselves with the world. I loved visiting the museum and looking at all the fantastic art work from around the world. We all could benefit from learning and sharing our radiant peace with the world. Thank you, thank you, thank you for carrying the important message. This was a beautiful experience!
My supervisor shared with me her experience at the "Radiant Peace Museum" so I went to see for myself.
I loved it, so bright and cheerful; reading, looking, viewing videos and seeing families visiting themselves inspired me to do a program at my library with kids from the community.
We did and art project on what they thought Radiant Peace was and to share their thoughts on paper shaped like fish. They surprised me with their thoughts and ideas of Radiant Peace. They were excited with the project and couldn't wait to see their art in the "Radiant Peace Museum".
It's wonderful to see that kids do understand the meaning of Radiant Peace all on their own and being able to display it in such great ways of expression.
Just a wonderful place to visit, we need more places like this for families to share
Sincerely,
KBraccio
As a language arts teacher, I have been sharing for many years now the Radiant Peace Foundation's message of peace coming from within and emanating out into the whole world. The children are encouraged to think about how peace really does begin with them and radiates out toward the other people they come in contact with. My students are inspired by the message and encouraged to employ their artistic and writing skills by earning monetary awards for their thought and talents!
I am an art teacher since 1998. I have always had my students participate in the Radiant Peace Art Contests. My students are always proud to receive awards as well as participation patches. The program helps them examine their inner self to see how they view the world as a more peaceful place.
The Radiant Peace Museum is positive place for all. You get to reflect on life and how important peace is. Your stress and worry melts away upon entering the colorful museum.
I am very proud that my high school students participate in the annual writing contest. To see videos, art, and essays win is very special to me. If you ever want to experience true Radiant Peace you must visit this museum!

As a teacher, I enjoy having my students enter the Radiant Peace Education Awards in which they can express their meaning own of peace through poems and essays. I was so happy to have students from both Gibbs High School and Largo Middle School win! The students were so proud to invite their parents to the museum to see their works displayed, and they appreciated the monetary prizes because they all came from families that struggled financially.
As a patron to the International Museum of Peace, I enjoy looking at all the student artwork, essays, and video projects. It is interesting to see pieces from other countries around the world as well. I always leave with a sense of peace and happiness.
My class participates in the Radiant Peace Foundation and their contests each year. The chlidren first talk about and write about how they find their inner peace. We brainstorm ideas about where and when that feeling of calm, Radiant Peace comes to us from within. We do a service project each year by sending cards for all holidays to the veterans and soldiers. I bring the cards to the V.A. Hospital in Tampa and return to share the kind words of the veterans and visitors I meet. My students learn that the wonderful Radiant Peace they feel within, can be spread to others. The museum is wonderful and filled with volunteers and children's art and words. What a wonderful place! I only wish our class could travel to St. Petersburg to visit the museum, but it is too far away. Lynn S. Teacher
TO INSPIRE, ENCOURAGE AND PROMOTE RADIANT PEACE * TO SERVE AS A CENTER POINT FOR RADIANT PEACE EDUCATION WORLDWIDE...I was intrigued the first time that I heard about the Radiant Peace Museum and the work that they do. I am a teacher and have had my grade level students as well as my Multicultural Committee students have the opportunity to learn about the ideas of Radiant Peace and how we can as individuals bring radiant peace to our own awareness as well as to express the ideas of radiant peace through art and written pieces. Our experiences with The Radiant Peace International Museum have always been interesting, informative and enjoyable. The drawings from around the globe show children that kids their age from different cultures have the same ideas of radiant peace that they have themselves.
I am a teacher and every year I have my students participate in the Radiant Peace Contest. I usually always have a student win and they are always so excited. My students also look forward to visiting the museum and seeing all the special projects! The staff are always so welcoming!
The first time I learned of the Radiant Peace Foundation, I had to go in to experience it for myself. What I was most moved by were all the examples from children around the world of what they thought radiant peace was. Their artwork and statements representing their idea of it is so powerful and moving... With all the horrible things that happen in the world everyday, it's wonderful to be reminded there is also a lot of good. Keep up the great work!
One of the things I like most about The Radiant Peace Education Awards displayed at The International Museum of Radiant Peace is that all senses are used to appreciate the expressions of Radiant Peace. Visiting the museum is more than just looking at things on the wall. It also can be appreciated by people of all ages.
As a resident of St. Petersburg Florida I have had the opportunity to visit the International Museum of Radiant Peace. I was especially moved by exhibits displaying the words and art of children from around the globe expressing what Radiant Peace means to them. I'm sure that that each visitor, young and old, is inspired to look within themselves to put the message of Radiant Peace into their daily words and actions.
With such an important message, this organization needs all the resources available to help spread the message of Radiant Peace.
I have known about Radiant Peace for years but, until recently, always from a distance. I kind of knew (or at least thought I did) what it was about but never really thought much about it. It seemed like every year I would hear about some kids projects on Radiant Peace and how wonderful they were and how many they were. But I was removed and detached from the actual projects and imagined them to be just more kids art stuff . No doubt some were nice and interesting but most were undoubtedly childish and of primary interest to the parents and teachers.
Then I went to the International Museum of Radiant Peace. And returned several times. To say I was surprised and impressed would be an understatement . The projects on display there are as real, heartfelt and insightful as many of the exhibits I’ve seen in some of the world’s finest museum. To think that kids can not only comprehend but express so many different aspects of Radiant Peace is humbling. I realized how stuck we adults get in trying to understand much less practice what should be a basic and vitally important message – peace. That it can be demonstrated in crayons, pictures, words and mixed media by people commonly under 12 years old is incredible.
I think the Radiant Peace Museum is a treasure of the world. It brings the Radiant Peace message outside the realm of the schools, parents, teachers and practitioners. It allows us to recognize and re-connect with one of the most important and fundamental concepts of humanity. We need each other and we need to live in harmony with one another and the world. I’m sure my understanding of Radiant Peace is still imperfect but the Radiant Peace Museum allows me an unparalleled opportunity to explore and understand it’s power and message. I wish there were one in every city.
When I first visited the Museum of Radiant Peace by the Radiant Peace Foundation International, I was profoundly inspired and touched by the insights these children expressed on Radiant Peace. The Radiant Peace Foundation International is an organization dedicated to promoting the awareness of Radiant Peace in children.
Through the Radiant Peace Education Awards, children in grades 1-12 express what Radiant Peace means to them in their own lives through creative writing, art, and video. To showcase and exhibit the outstanding art works, videos and amazing writings on Radiant Peace, The Radiant Peace Foundation International has created the first and only Museum for Radiant Peace in St. Petersburg, Florida.
It is truly a moving experience when you visit the Museum of Radiant Peace and see all the art and writings on Radiant Peace by children from all ages and from around the World. This non-profit organization is touching, not only the lives of these children, but also making a lasting impact on everyone who visits the Museum of Radiant Peace.
I am an educator in Florida and have participated in the Radiant Peace Foundation Education awards. An annual contest sponsored by the foundation,my students have learned each year that peace is within all of us and that we radiate it when we share it with others. By showing respect and care for all things in the universe ,we all are changed and the world is better. The words and artwork of children convey their feelings and thoughts about the responsibility we have to live peacefully together.
This jewel of a museum is a one of a kind in the entire world and is located on Central Ave. in St. Petersburg, FL. This non profit began in 1986 and has thrived on donations, and volunteers at the grassroots level. The museum houses many of the award winning children's art projects sponsored by this association. All projects support the mission statement: 1) To inspire, encourage and promote Radiant Peace and 2) To serve as a center point for Radiant Peace Education worldwide.
Focusing on children in grades 1 - 12, sometimes the entire class particaptes in the art project or class video. Other times individuals in the classes are individual award winners. Everyone submitting an entry receives a Radiant Peace Patch and the overall winners receive cash awards. To that point and as an illustration of the growth since 1986, $10,000 dollars was distributed to children world wide for their winning art, videos and or essays in 2010.
When you first drive to the museum, you will walk up a purple sidewalk, at the door a purple awning, and inside there is a light blue floor covering with multi-colored walls in each of the rooms in the museum and ceiling mirrors reflecting light. From there the children's art, essays and videos about Radiant Peace envelops you and opens and expands your heart. And that's before your Radiant Tour guide takes you on a guided tour of the Intergalactic Radiant Peace room.
The Radiant Peace Foundation International has many other projects world wide such as Radiant Peace Places, and Worldwide Celebrations of The International Day of Radiant Peace, just to name a few. Please visit www.radiantpeace.org. The museum is one centralized place to see the world-wide award winners expressions of Radiant Peace.
The vision is to expand the museum to be able to house entire classrooms of children and have more inspiratonal and writing projects by people of all ages and countries and possibly even to have a Radiant Peace community center.
Encase you were wondering, all of this has been accomplished by donors and volunteers as there is only one part-time, minimally paid employee- so you could say overhead or admn costs are nominal and your donations truly go to the projects and services provided.
Radiant Peace Foundation International is an amazing organization. My students have been fortunate to tour this incredible museum. It is an inspirational experience that has touched their soles. My students have learned that radiant peace is found within each of them. My class has entered their writings on what radiant peace means to them. A few of my struggling students were recognized for their outstanding work by the Radiant Peace Foundation International. Their self-esteem soared after being recognized. I feel extremely fortunate to be associated with the Radiant Peace Foundation International.
Not knowing what to expect, I was pleasantly surprised during my visit to the International Musuem of Radiant Peace...right here in my backyard in St. Pete, Florida! During a very stressful time in my life, I decided to pay the museum a visit for the purpose of having a few stress-free hours, and that is exactly what I got. I had a great time, and witnessed people of all ages enjoying the interactive exhibits and taking a literal and figurative "deep breath". If you're in St. Pete or the Tampa Bay area, don't miss this little gem!
I can't speak highly enough about The Radiant Peace Foundation International and its many programs dedicated to inspiring and promoting Radiant Peace around the world. I have been a volunteer for this professional organization for over 20 years, and continue to be deeply touched by its outreach to children and adults…especially through its major program, The Radiant Peace Education Awards.
Throughout each year, children from pre-school through high school are encouraged to submit artwork and essays, expressing the meaning and value of Radiant Peace in their lives. Often, entire classrooms or schools will participate, integrating The Radiant Peace Education Awards with their academic curriculums of English, Art, Social Studies, and more. It is easy to see through the thousands of entries that have been submitted over the years, that these students find Radiant Peace to be vital to their sense of well-being.
These powerful and heart-warming entries are then displayed at The International Museum of Radiant Peace. In today's world, where the news media seem to focus daily on negative and discouraging events, this lovely, colorful museum provides an oasis of calm and celebration amidst the outer chaos. In addition to the uplifting artwork and multimedia displays, there are inspiring quotes, and lively, interactive exhibits that give visitors a chance to experience Radiant Peace for themselves.
As a donor, I've seen my money be used for: further expansion of the museum (from one room in 2001 to the entire first floor of a small business building); greater distribution of Radiant Peace Patches (every child who enters The Radiant Peace Education Awards receives one), and more awards given to more winners and honorable mentions than ever before.
Due to limited space, only a fraction of the entries can be displayed in the current museum, and the need is great for a larger building that can also enable entire school groups to visit.
It is important to state that the International Museum of Radiant Peace is not just for children -- adults of all ages have visited, and continue to be inspired by its message of Radiant Peace. It is a message which resounds off the walls loud and clear, carried through the heart and voices of thousands of children around the world.

Thank you for your enthusiasm and participation! One of the aspects which makes us unique is that we invite students to write and create art about Radiant Peace(R), the peace which starts in each one of us and radiates out. This is different from a lot of "peace" or "conflict resolution" programs.
