Mission: The mission of the organization is to foster the development of creative individuals as writers and artists and to promote public appreciation of excellence in the literary and graphic arts by publishing a magazine containing fiction, poetry, essays, reproductions of graphic art, and interviews with writers and artists regarding their work, by publishing and fostering the publication of collections of such works, by fostering the publication of literary and graphic works as books, films or other forms, and by other activities that further these goals.
Programs: Publication of the paris review:in fiscal 2017, the most significant activity of the paris review foundation was the publication of four issues of the paris review, each of which reached an average of 18,683 subscribers and purchasers of single issues. The four issues published in fiscal 2017 included the paris review no. 219, the paris review no. 220, the paris review no. 221 and the paris review no. 222. Each issue of the magazine published during fiscal 2017 includes a combination of fiction, poetry, nonfiction, visual art, and interviews with prominent writers.
web activities:on september 15, 2010, the paris review foundation relaunched its web site. The highlights of the web site are online access to the entire archives of the paris review interviews and a free blog, the daily, as well as an online store where we advertise and sell subscriptions, back issues and merchandise. During fiscal 2017, the site overall received 16,569,216 page views and 11,543,252 unique visitors, while the daily received 10,312,191 page views and 6,795,985 unique visitors. The daily is updated three times a day.
events:in fiscal year 2017 the paris review foundation held ten events to promote readership and education. Three events were to promote the quarterly release of the paris review. One was to promote the launch of the free podcast. The remaining six events were to promote underrepresented writers and artists. The writers and artists represented were: ottessa moshfegh, john jeremiah sullivan, albert murray, chimamanda ngozi adichie (one book ny) akhil sharma, peter cole and rowan ricardo phillips.
