Mission: Nccadv leads the state's movement to end domestic violence and to enhance work with survivors through collaborations, innovative trainings, prevention, technical assistance, state policy development and legal advocacy.
Programs: Nccadv's programs help meet a most basic human need - safety. Domestic violence is widespread and deeply damages those it touches. Staggering numbers of people (1 in 4 women; 1 in 9 men) will be victims in their lifetimes. This agency works to interrupt the cycle of violence, end the stigma attached to a difficult and taboo subject, and free individuals to pursue physical and emotional health. To achieve deep impact, nccadv goes beyond direct services and works to influence the overall environment that enables domestic violence. This environment includes families, institutions, jobs, housing, health care, education, and more. Nccadv advocates skillfully for systemic change and to end oppression and injustice. It works to create a north carolina where domestic violence (dv) survivors have a chance for well-being and communities are empowered to prevent domestic violence.
