I am so proud to serve as a board member of Pro-Choice North Carolina. As others have testified, we have an extremely dedicated, creative, active, and forward-looking staff, board, and membership. In frightening times, PCNC continues to provide solid analysis, powerful strategies, and perseverance in the long-term struggle for reproductive justice in solidarity with other social justice movements in North Carolina and nationally. I am of the generation that risked life, health, stigma, and prosecution for seeking contraception as well as abortion. It is sad to see the current backlash, but so encouraging to know that younger people will carry on the fight -- never again!
For six years, I have been a donor and volunteer at Pro Choice NC – a dynamic organization that is making a critical impact in the fight for reproductive rights. They have been instrumental in destigmatizing abortion and reproductive health care, as well as organizing activists across the state to advocate for access to comprehensive reproductive healthcare. Pro-Choice NC is paving the way for true reproductive freedom in North Carolina, and I cannot imagine where we would be without their leadership in this essential work.
Pro-Choice NC is a great organization, dedicated and determined. They are in our corner every day fighting for our right to be citizens will all the rights that entails. They keep me informed and keep me in the loop on actions I can take to help the cause. Reproductive rights are so precarious these days. If Pro-Choice NC wasn't here for us, I shudder to think where we'd be.
I am a board member and an OBGYN/abortion provider. ProChoice NC is a mighty organization that does so much to support, advocate for, and educate the people of North Carolina on the crucial issues like abortion access and other elements of reproductive healthcare.
I credit the Pro-Choice North Carolina Foundation with opening my eyes to the reality of the state of reproductive rights and reproductive freedom in our state. The organization is an incredible source of information. Their tiny staff works tirelessly to dispel myths and misconceptions about abortion access and reproductive health care; they keep North Carolinians informed about anti-abortion activity in our legislature and across the state and make sure that we're not just armed with information but also tools to stand up and fight back. Because most of the work they do happens quietly behind the scenes, I don't believe even those of us who faithfully support the organization fully realize what an important player Pro-Choice NC is in this movement.
I’ve had the chance to learn from this non-profit over the last decade in NC. Their work to highlight the importance of reproductive rights for all NC citizens is outstanding, They work in concerns with other non-profit advocacy groups and have a diverse staff that prioritizes outreach. They have organized marches, rallys, participated in events such as El Pueblo and work closely with legislators around questions related to reproductive health. I have been affiliated with PCNC for many years and am constantly inspired by the ways that this advocacy organization has navigated an increasingly difficult and hostile abortion advocacy space in NC. PCNC is the only exclusively abortion-advocacy organization in the state as is the leading authority on reproductive policy in NC. PCNC has been behind the important work and initiatives to uphold reproductive autonomy in the state. It has excellent leadership, a small-but-mighty staff, and a dedicated Board of Directors. It's very fair to say that the repro health landscape in NC would be even more dire without the tireless efforts of PCNC.
Pro-Choice NC is an incredible organization. They are highly effective at educating the public - sharing accurate, evidence-based information on reproductive health needs and services in NC. This is especially important given all the mis- and dis-information in the current political climate. They apply a social justice and rights-based approach to their advocacy efforts, noting the intersectionality between reproductive freedom and other forms of injustice and oppression. The small staff are deeply committed to the mission of the organization and provide a critical, state-wide voice for choice.
The PCNC staff works hard to educate others throughout the state, mobilize people to push for change, and collaborate with partners. They all appreciate--and makes sure to highlight--the overlaps that various movements in our community are experiencing. In other words, PCNC helps our community see that we're all pushing for the same things, such as dignity, agency, and liberation. They're a crucial organization in our state and I'm proud to work with them!
Pro-Choice North Carolina is a positive light in the reproductive rights movement in North Carolina. I have worked with PCNC for a while and appreciate their unwavering commitment to intersectional reproductive freedom. PCNC provides invaluable resources for navigating the complex landscape of reproductive healthcare in the state, as well as insightful updates on legislative developments. What particularly stands out is their proactive engagement in advocating for social justice across various issues in North Carolina. The advocacy tools they offer and their active participation in these critical conversations greatly enhance their impact within the community.
Pro Choice NC is an excellent grassroots non-profit with a small but mighty team! They provide great information on state and local bills and laws, send out timely action alerts, and conduct public education and awareness on all things reproductive rights and healthcare. We are so fortunate to have them doing amazing work in our state.
