Mission: Through the provision of quality, cost-effective medical care and humanitarian assistance, the lamp foundation works with and for the people of haiti to improve the lives of some of the most marginalized persons in the haitian society. Our work is done in collaboration with local residents, other haitian professionals, and both governmental and nongovernmental partners. The lamp foundation is non-profit, non-sectarian, and apolitical. Transparency to the community, patients, donors, and governing bodies is a sine qua non.
Programs: In 2016, the lamp's health center in cite soleil received approximately 12,000 patient visits. Each of these persons received a doctor consultation, lab testing, and medicine, free of charge. These patients are among the most disadvantaged on the globe. The lamp also provided a nutrition program for severely malnourished children, a women's clinic, cardiology services, school sponsorship for local children, mobile clinics to other disadvantaged areas, and public health education programming. All expenses in haiti were directed to the efforts of this health center, including medicines, lab supplies and operational costs, such as vehicle maintenance and salaries for twelve haitian staff. Haitian staff include two full time doctors and four nurses.
