Mission: The Islamic Research Foundation, Inc. was founded in 1988 as there is not a single Islamic Foundation to award scholarships and research grants out of 50,000 Foundations in America. It would like to award travel grants to Muslims students coming from developing countries to North America for higher studies. The literacy rate in the Muslim population worldwide is very low which is the antithesis of the religion of Islam. The IRF's efforts are directed at giving opportunities to Muslims to peruse higher education and research and development, transfer of technology, establishing centers of higher learning, libraries, computer centers.
