Causes: Human Services, Senior Centers, Seniors
Mission: To support parents and families who have children with special needs with the belief that every person is precious and capable of love, connection and friendship.
Programs: Provide a safe, accepting and inclusive environment where children, typical and special needs, can engage in activities including sports, art, music, camps and field trips. The peer to peer model we use builds leadership, social and team building skills for all and best of all fosters friendship between students who may have never crossed paths. We bring together a diverse population of students into one organization for one purpose, to grow and learn from each other. We celebrate each person's unique abilities and help them meet their potential. We provide low cost to free program options so all families can give their children the opportunity to enjoy activities not readily available to them otherwise.
a capital campaign is in place to support the construction of a facility approximately 30,000 square feet to help expand our current social recreational programs, open doors to more children with special needs, develop a vocational training facility and day workshop programs for high school students and beyond. This facility will provide job skills training and life skills training to prepare young adults for independent living and self-sufficiency. We will assist with job placement and also build revenue generating ventures within the site for those of our adults who may not be able to work off site. Partnering with corporations, local non-profits and small businesses we will provide greater access to individuals with special needs and through volunteers create a supportive community for all.
