We are tasked with preserving The Mound from property development.
In 1983 a deal between the Town Council and a developer deeded the 12.76 acres of The Mound in perpetuity to the Mound Foundation, a non-profit organization representing the citizens of Flower Mound.
The Mound Foundation was incorporated in August 1983 and is governed by a board of trustees. Its purpose is to keep the original character of the site and to promote and encourage educational, scientific, and historical interests, and to maintain and secure "The Mound".
The Mound currently needs to be burned, in a controlled burn. The Board has been unable to gain permission for this. We are updating, and strengthen the fence currently, and plan to have long horns graze the mound. This will help, but not prevent the woody plant invasion.
