Causes: Breast Cancer, Cancer
Mission: Support of persons with breast cancer and preventative information for the general public
Programs: Community outreach - addressing preventative breast health education needs of all women and targeting the hispanic community, senior citizens and underserved areas in the community by going to churches, health fairs, convalescent homes, seminars, and low income areas, and providing community educational lectures. Support services one on one peer counseling and emotional support for breast cancer clients, group support includes new diagnosed women and metastatic cancer clients, survivors meet twice a month. The breast cancer connection pairs newly diganosed with survivors having similar histories. Spanish speaking survivors meet periodicaly. Free library and reference material available.
reiki - a complementary care therapy, for overall wellness, energy, healing offered every tuesday morning and every other friday. Reflexology offered three times a month and meditation sessions every monday.
free mammogram screening program which educates women on breast health, early cancer detection, and covers mammogram costs for qualified santa barbara county women without insurance or who do not qualify for state-funded screening programs.
