ResqCats and it's founder, Jeffyne, are truly angels on earth for cats and kittens that have been forgotten or neglected. For over 20 years this organization has saved thousands of feline loves, from day old to last days...NO ONE has more compassion and love and is willing to go the extra mile for any little furry feline! I have volunteered for numerous rescue organizations in the past and HANDS DOWN, Jeffyne and ResqCats is the best at what they do, ensuring each lil life gets the very best furrever home possible! I have volunteered and fostered for them for many years and adopted my own kitty from ResqCats. I can't give enough accolades to these volunteers and the non-stop year round work that they do. Jeffyne is a purrfect example of how rescue orgs should be! I wholeheartedly believe ResqCats is one of the very best non profit organizations anywhere!

i liked the nonprofit heal-the ocean because its a good thing to do by taking out all of the trash out of the ocean so the animals don't eat it or so people don't see it on the beach and get stuck.

Many doctors want to generate revenue at the expense of the patient. Thank you again Dr for your knowledge. Dr Mendoza is not a fake and teeth in a day we see by many money driven private promoting clinics . Look at the destruction what other dentists have to do to the bone to have instant teeth . I was out on the streets drinking and using and waking up on peoples lawns with my wallet all over the sidewalk when I woke up morning’s several times. I had nothing but my I.D. and my clothes. I ended up locked in the psychiatric ward at the county hospital and got an offer to stay at Sanctuary. I sure wasn’t going anywhere so I suddenly had hope for my life to turn around. <br>Barry Schoer accepted my request to live at Sanctuary for a shot at recovery. My attitude changed and I decided to put myself into good use and fallow the schedule of groups, chores ext….. I had stopped drugs and alcohol and learned how to live with dignity and a sense of value. After being sober for a few months I asked staff there if we could start a meeting with people who were both mentally disabled and people who wanted to sober up. Immediately after we got a dual diagnosis group started in 1993. I found it working for me and others and kept it going on for years. Sanctuary House was the best thing that ever happened to me in my life. <br>They provide outstanding groups for all kinds of things that impair people or stop them from success. I’m almost 30 years sober now and I live in an apartment building supported by Sanctuary Centers. I don’t drink or do drugs and live a good clean life. I still attend recovery groups and I go to church and I’m the best I can be. I don’t always get my way but who does. Life is sure easier than it used to be. Thank you Sanctuary Centers. <br>

Did not provide financials when requested. Caution advised as what info provided appeared contradictory. Staff morale was low with a number of teachers not wanting to continue. Poor leadership by board and interim head of school. Student enrollment appears to be floundering.

The Rescue Mission saved my life. I never thought I could ever change. Then in 2005 I went to the SBRM. I was amazed at what I learned about myself. I was able to start looking in the mirror and liking what I saw. Going to 12 step meetings, getting a sponsor and learning that it was ok to me very awesome. I had John G for a counselor and he helped me learn to like myself. There were so many volunteers who gave so much of their time for someone like me. This was not easy to except in the beginning. I was so grateful to feel love. I had been adopted and had to learn that I was not a throw away. I was able to seek employment which ended up leading me to work at the mission for 7 years. I miss it all the time. There was a true love there. I love watching people go from hopeless to hopeful. To see what unconditional love can do to people is amazing. I am still in touch with all my fellow workers and so thankful to have those friendships for life. I miss the Feast the most. So much to get it together, but watching homeless faces being loved on is the best thing to watch. I am forever grateful to theSBRM. God completely turned my life around and had the right people there to see me thru. Thank you again Rescue Mission I love you ALL with unconditional love.

We often refer patients, both adults and teens, to CADA for treatment. They work to figure out what each patient needs and work with the patient, their family, and the whole treatment team. Great organization!

There is no better mission for an organization like the one for Teddy Bear Cancer Foundation. They support families emotionally, educationally and most important economically during the trying times of caring for a child with cancer. WOW.

I commend SBHS for its efforts to care for hundreds of pets displaced by the 2018 Thomas fire and subsequent debris slide. They are the go-to organization in SB when catastrophe strikes. They deserve a fair shake and donations for their generosity <br>

Direct Relief is working with Shanti Foundation, Nepal for helping the poor, PLHIV, vulnerable, trafficking women, mega earthquake affected people etc. We are happy, honored and excited to work with them. John and Brandy have been involved with Help Heal Veterans since 2012. The couple found H. H. V. during a 5 month period of homelessness. John was in the Army from 1980-87 were he had tours in Germany and Panama and stationed at Fort Carson where he completed his enlistment. John settled in Grand Junction were he and Brandy met at Catholic Community Services and became a couple. They lived under the 29th street Bridge and frequented The Help Heal Veterans Craft Center where they enjoyed the fellowship of other Veterans. John and Brandy began to sell the crafts they made to make some money. John reports that being able to make craft kits helped him out of depression. Both John and Brandy give credit to HHV for helping them network within the community. They have made many Veteran friends and continue to sell their crafts around Grand Junction. John and Brandy have been able to buy a home and car and continue to be involved with HHV. <br> <br> <br> <br>

I have a lovely 18 year old girl who like any 18 year old enjoys her independence and being social with peers. What makes this challenging is that Liesl has many special needs. She is non-verbal and uses a voice output device, she is intellectually disabled, and she needs help with self care. She is also incredibly social, loves adventures, and likes to experience new things. New Directions allows her to do just that. Liesl began participating in some of the day trips when she turned 18 and now wants to participate in all of them. This summer she has repeatedly grabbed her New Directions name tag to let me know she is ready to go on an adventure immediately! Yesterday she took the New Directions flyer off my bulletin board to peruse the selection of day trips coming up. We are so lucky to have New Directions available to us. It not only gives Liesl the opportunity to have amazing experiences without Mom and Dad around, it also gives her something to look forward to. I don't know when we'll be ready for the overnight trips, but it's wonderful to know that New Directions is there when we are. Thank you!

I have been involved with the MWC for many years in various capacities on their Board. Currently I am honored to be selected as their board chair and get the pleasure of working closely with their staff. The MWC is an amazing organization whose services and programs reach thousands of people in need, not only for individuals, but for their families and the Santa Barbara Community!<br>

I have been working with adults with developmental disabilities throughout my entire life, and never before have I met a more accommodating, caring group. The staff, residents, volunteers, and visitors truly create a familial environment, while still promoting independence and freedom. Probably the best work place I've ever experienced.

The World Business Academy is an organization that I support on a number of levels from its expertise around renewable energy sources to its incredible staff and supporters. I have worked with a number of organizations in the past as both a consultant and a staff member but I have never had an experience like the one I have with the Academy. The level of expertise and education is beyond my expectations. They are finding the solutions that work and the way to motivate and inspire others to join them in taking responsibility for the whole. I support their work 100%

Being a Raggedy Andy pushed me out of my comfort zone and helped me understand why it's important to volunteer and care about the community. When visiting nursing homes and now Cottage hospital once a week, I've had the opportunity to talk with those who don't have someone to talk to amidst the most uncomfortable times of their lives. The compassion that I've been taught through this program not only helps the ones receiving the compassion, but it has also given me the strength and courage to become a more thoughtful and caring human being. With all the changes in life that goes by week to week, this organization has been the sweet consistency for me, and it's all because of the brilliant ideas of those who found and currently run the program. I cannot say enough about this organization and it deserves every bit of spotlight and praise that it can get.

The Scholarship Foundation deserves more than 5 stars, it is a community treasure and has helped so many of our kids get to college. My son was lucky enough to receive scholarships which really helped because we have another child in high school now who is planning to go to college too. A college education is very expensive and we are very thankful to the foundation's donors and to the excellent staff who gave us advice on how to do the FAFSA.

The Museum of Contemporary Art Santa Barbara is an extraordinary institution serving artists and diverse audiences in Santa Barbara and the entire west coast. It presents world-class art exhibits and has become an important part of arts education through it's outreach and programs for teachers and students of the arts. They run a very tight ship, and donations will make an immediate impact on MCSB's continuing ability to serve audiences and artists.

Loved these people. Went in for pelvic exam and birth control pills years ago, when I couldn't afford them through insurance. Found them kind, supportive, and committed to women's health--not "just abortion," like the media seems to want to paint them, but women's health and ALL of the choices and options women have to take care of themselves.

Kudos to Assistance League of Santa Barbara for going for the gold! Out of more than 2,000 nonprofit organizations in Santa Barbara, there are only 17 that have achieved Gold Level status in the GuideStar Exchange Program ... the cream of the crop!

They also do it for people in San luis Obispo county!

The Humanist Society of Santa Barbara provides a meeting place for those who are not attached to any religion. We promote humanist principles, that mankind carries his destiny in his own hands and does not need advice from supernatural beings. We are planning our donation program for 2015. It is hoped to support young people of high school and college age in their quest for meaning and fulfillment in life, and those who have lost their way and find themselves in trouble. Also the CALM and Foster Care programs will probably be on our list for support.. There is a growing number of non-religious people and we wish to spread the word that we are proud citizens who support and encourage the principles of this country.

CALM is an amazing resource for children and families in Santa Barbara County. The staff is highly trained and CALM's programs are essential. CALM is also a wonderful partner to other non-profits in our community.

I always enjoy the interfaith dinners and enjoyed the interfaith Thanksgiving services until I became disillusioned with the failure of the participating Unitarian, Episcopal and Methodist ministers to be more responsive to my concerns with sanitation and hygiene at their "Freedom Warming Center.But in principle the Thanksgiving service is a great idea. I need to see more substance and practice of what is preached. <br> <br>But none of that is the fault of IISB.To the contrary, they made Project HEAL available to me as a venue to develop the Cough Hygiene Initiative.We hold monthly meet and Greet outreaches in which I brief the unhoused
