Mission: The boston educational development foundation, inc. (bedf) is the education foundation for the boston public schools (bps). As the fiscal agent, non-profit partner of bps, bedf enables a wide range of programs and services operated by bps schools and departments. The majority of bedf funding revenues come from local and national philanthropy, such as foundations, corporations and individual donors. This funding sustains and expands educational opportunities that may otherwise be unavailable, such as out-of-school programming for students, leadership and professional development for educators, and engagement activities for families.

It also comprises a portfolio of internally run teacher pipeline programs that provide multiple entry points for the next generation of educators. In addition, it has further developed a comprehensive evaluation system that gives teachers more frequent feedback which is then connected to their professional development.
program: k2-2 literacydescription: focus on k2-2 is a lever for improving early literacy. The program is extending the kindergarten curricula to a cohesive p-2 system through new comprehensive and integrated first and second grade curricula that is being piloted and implemented across a number of first and second grade classrooms. The approach for k2-2 builds on the prek methodology of developmentally appropriate and research-based activities: students learn through actively engaging in and directing their learning, exploring and playing in centers, with teachers as facilitators. The expectation is that this interdisciplinary curriculum will lead to increased student engagement, reading proficiency, and career readiness

I do not like the lack of clarity about the additional fees that are charged to make a credit card gift, especially when you are also asked if you'd like to make an additional gift. It feels creepy and dishonest. If I didn't respect the work of the people in whose honor I was making this gift and realize the importance of the Roger Clap Innovation School, I would have WITHDRAWN this gift.
