Mission: It is the mission of the atlanta animal alliance to provide veterinary medical programs that reduce pet-overpopulation through spay and neuter and clinic services that provide critical medical services that reduce the pain and suffering of animals who are homeless or whose owners have limited financial means.
Programs: The atlanta animal alliance was formed to alleviate animal pain, suffering and premature death. How would you feel if you could not afford the medical care your pet desperately needs to relieve its' pain and suffering? What if you were an animal without a home. . . Sick, injured or abused, without a guardian, in pain, suffering and slowly dying? Unexpected accidents or life-threatening illnesses can occur at any time during a pet's life. Most pet owners are able to financially meet these responsibilities. Unfortunately, many pet owners have difficulty affording these vital services. It is the mission of the atlanta animal alliance to serve animals whose owners are struggling financially and animals that have no homes or no one to provide for them. Most of these animals are "put to sleep" for what is oftentimes a treatable condition. We dream that one day no pet will be a victim of "economic euthanasia. " our programs include:project catsnipproject catsnip is the atlanta animal alliance's first program to combat pet overpopulation through non-lethal means in the greater metro atlanta area. Over 100,000 pets are destroyed annually because they do not have owners who are able to provide the basic care necessary for their survival. No other disease or condition of companion animals takes as many lives as euthanasia. In fact, no other disease comes close. There is increasing concern about the fact that between 10% and 20% of atlanta area pets are destroyed annually, almost double the national rate. Sadly, atlanta is not meeting the challenge and achieving advancements as well as other american cities. Although pet overpopulation is certainly not an easy problem to correct, those cities that have provided affordable and accessible spay/neuter to the pet owning public have seen the sharpest decline in euthanasia rates. Goal:align the supply of animals in atlanta with the demand by offering affordable and accessible spay/neuters. Develop a system in greater atlanta by which companion animals can be spayed or neutered at an affordable rate. Collaborate with area veterinarians to establish a system that serves pets whose owners are unable to afford full-service veterinary care. In 5 years we intend to decreasing the number of homeless pets that are euthanized by 80%, from 100,000 to 20,000. Wellpet humaneessential for good health - regular wellness exams allow us to evaluate your pets general health and become aware of any health problems before they become a serious illnesses. Since your pet cannot vocalize his/her feelings, you must rely on regular physical examinations and your in-home observations to optimize your pets health. Wellness exams may require diagnostic lab tests and/or x-rays to provide a more detailed picture of your pets condition. Wellpet humane will offer these evaluation tools only if your pet's condition calls for it.
